Many people know about the properties of aloe vera, a plant that helps purify the body, and is widely used for the production of cosmetic products; but very few have dared to try it and use it in food. A few days ago I was watching television and I came across an agricultural program dedicated to this wonderful plant, which called my attention to see that there is in Venezuela an exotic restaurant dedicated to making steak with the stalks of this plant, I saw the whole process and the result looked delicious, I tell you that in my house I have many of these plants and without thinking twice I went to prepare this recipe, today I want to share it with you, this being an uncommon dish in our diet.
Ingredientes / Ingredients
1 penca de sábila de aproximadamente 250 gramos.
Una cabeza de ajos.
100 gramos de harina de maíz.
Sazonatodo en polvo al gusto.
Sal y pimienta negra al gusto.
150 ml Aceite vegetal para freír.
1 aloe vera stalk of approximately 250 grams.
A head of garlic.
100 grams of corn flour.
Sazonatodo powder to taste.
Salt and black pepper to taste.
150 ml vegetable oil for frying.
First we cut a stalk of the aloe plant, let it drain for a few minutes, then peel it, cut the pulp into thin fillets (it is very important that they are very thin), which we must wash with plenty of water to remove the slime from the glass, which gives a bitter taste.
Once the fillets are clean, we prepare the dressing, for which we peel the garlic, crush them, sprinkle well all over the fillets and add salt, black pepper and seasoning to taste.
In a bowl place the corn flour and wrap our fillets, in a skillet place to heat 150 ml of vegetable oil, when hot place the fillets and let brown, turn to brown on both sides, remove from heat and let drain on absorbent paper.
Resultado / Result
Our delicious steaks are ready, to accompany them I wanted to prepare a raw salad of tomatoes, onion and cucumber (it is my favorite) and also make some rich green plantain tostones, which combine perfectly with this recipe.
I tell you that the texture of these fillets is very interesting, they are golden and toasted on the outside and juicy on the inside, the flavor of the aloe is well disguised with the garlic, it is a very rich, healthy and exotic dish to eat, I was pleasantly surprised with it.
