Hello, foodie lovers greetings. These days I am here in India and enjoying my traditional food with local vegetables and really exotic ingredients. It is my family recipe when the coriander is in season the price is almost nothing and the taste also very good from January to March. Today I present this recipe from Maharashtra India.
I am buying this one in Norway It is cilantro, not real coriander. But optional I use it because there is no other possibility.
This is real coriander see the leaves and aroma just imaginable.
which I get here with a pleasant aroma even walking through the sellers at the market. This is known as real coriander some of my friends from the hive garden are familiar with it if they grow their own coriander. This coriander has many medicinal properties one of which is detoxifying. it is rich in Vitamin C, Iron, Vitamin B6, Magnesium, antioxidants. Coriander leaves impart aromatic flavour and revitalizing fragrance to all our Indian foods like dal, vegetables, soups or curries. Apart from this, daily consumption of fresh coriander leaves help boost your immunity, lower bad cholesterol, soothe the skin in case of burns, improve digestion, control blood sugar levels and improve bone health. add this unique herb to your recipes to reinvigorate your overall well-being.
Ingredients:
150 grams fresh cleaned and washed coriander I keep the stems they
are tender and have more taste.
1.2 cup gram flour
1 onion
1 green chili
1 pinch of hing/asafoetida
1/2 tsp salt
1/2tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin seeds. crushed
2 tbsp oil.
To fine chopping, I used my Indian multi-purpose knife.
After chopped coriander and onion green chili, I added turmeric, salt, hing, and cumin seeds to the chopped coriander.
The gram flour.
Mixed and made dough without using water.
Made a roll from the dough.
here we use well water for making food which fresh but stored in copper pot. I poured water in pot and set a steaming net in it.
wrapped the roll of dough in banana leaves and put in the pot covered on medium heat on gas stove for cooking/steaming.
After 5-7 minutes roll is nicely steamed. closed heat and let it cool down a few minutes.
After roll is cooled I made some slices.
now the slices are ready to shallow fry.
Greased an iron pan using oil and set all slices in the pan. and fried them on low heat, around 2 minutes each sides.
here the coriander cutlets are ready I decorate them with cucumber slices and tomato.
Thank you for stopping by.
