Sesame crunchy brittle is made with sesame and jaggery.
Hello, and greetings to all food lovers. Today's post is about a healthy sweet for winter which keeps the body warm. At the peak of winter, we have a tradition to use sesame and jaggery, using both ingredients used in traditional recipes which protect the body from cold winter. Consuming both sesame and jaggery we make some easy sweet crunchy sesame brittle.
According to Ayurveda sesame seeds and sesame oil are extremely healthy and have medicinal value as well jaggery has the same.
Sesame seeds are rich in good healthy fat, calcium, and fiber as well as a good source of protein and magnesium Sesame also improves digestive power, is good for teeth, and improves immunity power. As it is rich in Vitamin E, improves the quality of the skin. Sesame oil massage is also advised in the winter season. It moisturizes dry skin and strengthens the bones, muscles, and joints. It is oily and hot in nature, in winter, food prepared with sesame provides the body with much-needed heat, keeps it warm, and protects our body from cold.
Jaggery, on the other hand, is a good source of iron, and antioxidants and is beneficial for digestion. jaggery used in sweets is also hot in nature. It stimulates digestive power helps in blood purification and helps in Respiratory tract infections. It is a healthy substitute for sugar.
Ingredients:
2 cups of sesame seeds
1 cup of jaggery
Roast sesame seeds on low heat just until pop and crackle.
and in a saucepan mix jaggery and 1/4 cup water and start making syrup on medium heat.
Keep stirring the jaggery mixture until it starts to bubble.
Make syrup test by putting some drops in cold water if the syrup made candy consistency the syrup is ready for use.
Pour roasted sesame seeds into syrup and stir
Mix the roasted sesame in jaggery syrup and stir well.
the hot mixture was poured/spooned onto a silicone sheet and rolled thin with a rolling pin.
When it is hot it is easy to cut according to the desired shapes or just broken into pieces.
They are tasty and healthy.
