Preparing delicious breakfast dishes, to start something beautiful is a must do. As someone who is used to eating on time, of course you can't miss eating meals according to your meal schedule. So maybe this is one of the obstacles that happened to me when I was traveling. I find it hard to hold back hunger when I travel, but I usually get rid of this with snacks such as bread or fast food such as porridge, for example. You must know how instant porridge is fast food with sometimes a taste that doesn't suit my tongue. Because it happened that last weekend I spent time at home preparing a special dish that was simple but very delicious to be enjoyed on a relaxed day like this.
Red Bean Porridge A Combination Of Cassava an Jackfruit
Porridge dish is a food that has always been a breakfast dish for my area. Slightly sweet porridge is the choice of the people in my area, maybe because they are used to it but many also prepare salty and spicy porridge for the breakfast menu at home. Well, do you still remember, the red bean that I bought some time ago at the grain edition contest. This time I want to cook something different on my serving plate with these seeds. Namely cassava porridge breakfast combined with red beans. This is the first recipe I've tried, I've never made this recipe before. And for the end result to be successful or not, for me this is the perfection of taste in making this combination of tubers with seeds.
Ingredients Used
50 grams of red beans
100 grams of cassava
50 grams of jackfruit
600 ml of coconut milk
2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
2 pandan leaves
½ teaspoon vanilla powder (optional)
Cooking Steps
Steps 1
Boil red beans with sufficient water that has been boiled beforehand, add a teaspoon of salt to the stew.
Steps 2
Then boil until the beans are really soft, after they are soft, throw away the remaining cooking water from the beans, then rinse once with clean water.
Steps 3
Then add water and cook again
Then, enter the cassava pieces that have been cut according to your taste.
Steps 4
Cook the two again until the cassava is soft, now make sure the cassava is not overcooked, because the cooking process is still taking a long time.
Steps 5
After the cassava started to get soft, I added coconut milk and pandan leaves which had been concluded beforehand.
Steps 6
Then also add the pieces of jackfruit, stir the porridge so that the coconut milk doesn't break.
Steps 7
Cook until it boils while stirring, and finally add granulated sugar and vanilla powder then stir again, after 2 x boiling, turn off the stove and the porridge is ready to be enjoyed.
Results
Now, a bowl of red bean porridge with a mixture of cassava and jackfruit is ready to eat. Serve while the porridge is still warm or cold, both of these dishes do not reduce the deliciousness of the porridge. In my opinion, although this is the first time trying it, the taste does not spoil the mood at all. The taste is really good, the porridge is slightly sweet and definitely has a slightly salty taste, making the combination of flavors very suitable for this dish. The cassava and red beans are really perfectly cooked and the combination of the two flavors I can assure you is a special combination.
