Dear friends, wishing you all a wonderful day! How are you? No matter how busy life gets, there are always opportunities to create something new. Today, I found myself thinking about what fresh dish to share on the Hive platform. As I was searching for inspiration, I noticed that I had some semolina at home. So, I decided to prepare a wade using it. Semolina is a highly nutritious ingredient, packed with essential nutrients, and it's used in special dishes across many countries. This time, I wanted to try something different, so I combined semolina with potatoes to create a unique recipe experience. This dish is perfect as an addition to breakfast or for afternoon tea. Let's dive in and see how to prepare this interesting and delicious treat!
Materials Used.
Semolina 100g.
Water 100ml.
Pure Coconut oil200ml.
Salt powder to taste.
1/2 Teaspoon of mustard seeds.
1 Teaspoon of crushed chili powder.
1/2 Teaspoon of turmeric powder.
A teaspoon of crushed ginger and garlic.
Some curry leaves.
3 green chillies, finely chopped.
A finely chopped onion.
A Peeled and washed potato.
The cooking process as follows.
Now let's prepare this delicious vada recipe. First, finely chop the onions, green chilies, and curry leaves. Then, grate the potato.
Next, we take a pan and place it on the stove, adding coconut oil to it. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and let them fry. Then, add crushed ginger, garlic paste, green chilies, onions, and curry leaves. Mix and fry for about a minute. Add a spoonful of water, followed by the grated potato and turmeric powder, and mix well.
Next, when the water starts bubbling, add the semolina. Stir it well to ensure there are no lumps. After it’s thoroughly mixed, add crushed chili powder and Salt mix again, and then remove the pan from the heat.
Next, once the mixture has cooled, take small portions and roll them into balls. Then, flatten each ball into a round shape, as shown in the images below.
Now put a pot on the stove again and add coconut oil to it. Once the oil is hot, fry the semolina wades until golden.
Finally, the crispy vada is ready to be served—a delicious treat for guests and friends. It's incredibly crispy and flavorful. My child tasted it and enjoyed it, and I also shared it with the two children who live nearby. They said it was very tasty. I hope you give this recipe a try as well. With that, I'll say goodbye for today. Have a wonderful day!
