Wishing all my dear friends a wonderful day!
I’ve been a bit busy lately. Today, I want to share a simple yet satisfying recipe for vegan roti. This dish combines wholesome ingredients into flavorful flatbreads. Filled with fresh vegetables, aromatic spices, and nutritious flours, these rotis make an excellent choice for a healthy meal or a quick snack. They’re also a fantastic option for tea time! Let’s take a look at how to prepare this step-by-step.
Materials Used.
Wheat flour 300g.
Salt to taste.
Coconut oil 100ml.
Hot Water 180ml.
1 Teaspoon of chili powder.
1 Teaspoon of pepper powder.
1 finely chopped onion.
1 finely chopped tomato.
2 potatoes cut into small squares.
A few chopped onion leaves.
The cooking process as follows.
First, take the required amount of wheat flour and add it to a bowl. Then, mix in three tablespoons of coconut oil. Gradually add hot water while kneading until a soft dough forms. Once the dough is well combined, let it rest for about 15 minutes.
Next, let's prepare the filling for the roti. Heat a pan and add two tablespoons of coconut oil. Once heated, add chopped onions, potatoes, and tomatoes and sauté for a few minutes until softened. Then, mix in chili powder, black pepper powder, and salt as per taste. Finally, add chopped spring onions, stirring well to combine all the flavors. Once done, remove the mixture from the heat and set it aside.
Next, take the rested dough and divide it into small portions. Roll each portion into a thin, round roti using your hands or a rolling pin.
Now, place a portion of the prepared filling onto one of the rolled-out roti. Then, take another roti and place it on top, sealing the edges gently by pressing them together. Make sure the filling is evenly spread and secure inside.
Now, take a pan and place it on the stove. Add about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and let it heat up. Once the oil is hot, place the prepared roti in the pan and cook until it turns golden brown on both sides. Flip it carefully to ensure even cooking.
Making vegan roti at home is a simple yet rewarding experience that brings both nutrition and taste to your plate. Whether you’re new to making roti or looking for a fresh twist, this recipe is definitely worth adding to your collection. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out for you!
That’s it for today—wishing you all a wonderful day!
