Hello Hivers
As I've said before, traditional food that comes from the time of our ancestors, sometimes also tastes quite appetizing, even though it's a little difficult to get it on the market, but it turns out we can make it ourselves, because the manufacturing process is quite easy and only uses ingredients which we easily find
A few days ago, I have harvested one of my bananas, and today some of them are ripe, these are cavendish bananas, or here they are often called ambon bananas, which have a sweet taste and a touch of sourness.
My mother said that this banana is very suitable to be used as a traditional food which we often call boeh geudok, and this cake only exists in aceh, after asking my mother, for the recipe, I immediately practiced it myself, to start with Let's prepare the following ingredients
- 2 Cavendish bananas
- 200gr wheat flour
- 1/2 coconut
- Two spoons of granulated sugar
- a teaspoon of salt
- cooking oil
Those are all the ingredients we need to make this traditional cake, the steps are also quite easy, I even managed to make it at the beginning of this experiment, here are the steps
First, pour all the flour into a larger container, then cut the bananas into small pieces and put them in the same container, after that mash all the bananas until they are well mixed with the flour, grind everything until it becomes a perfect dough, no need to add more water to make this dough, because it will ruin this cake later
Next, grate the coconut, here we only need to use half a coconut, shave the coconut as finely as possible and until the coconut shell is also shaved
After that, put the salt and sugar that has been prepared into this coconut shavings, stir until everything is smooth
After that, put the grated coconut into the banana mixture, and mix all the ingredients until well blended and form another dough, as shown in the last picture, and up here all the steps have been completed, all that's left is to fry it
Finally, heat the pan and add enough oil, then add the dough at the rate of one tablespoon for one time fry, and pay attention to the fire, don't get too big, fry all the dough until the color changes to brown, and then just serve it.
How, it's quite easy isn't it, and we only need ingredients that are easy to find, even that can also be from our own garden like mine, for example, only with these ingredients we can make a cake that is quite delicious once, especially if enjoyed while still hot and accompanied by a cup of coffee, there is no price that can be offered for that, and here is the end result
That's what we call boeh geudok, and to be honest, this is the first time I've made this cake, but the results didn't disappoint at all, the recipe and method given by my mother I can easily practice and succeed in producing a dish delicious, you can follow my way to be able to enjoy this cake
This traditional cake is still preserved by our people until now, even though it is a little difficult to get it on the market, but because it tastes good, as well as filling, this cake can be made by anyone, even in some countries this cake is also quite famous, it's just that they adding some other recipes, like in Malaysia for example, this cake is known as cekodok, but they add eggs to the dough, but this cake doesn't use eggs, everything is vegan based and of course healthy
For now, that's all I can share, I hope you guys like it and see you soon
