Hello Vegan Lovers, today I will make a menu that is suitable for parents who want to teach their children to like vegetable menus. Today I will make vegetable and tofu nuggets.
Nuggets are usually made from the main ingredients of meat or fish, but today I will make nuggets from the main ingredient of silken tofu with the addition of carrots, potatoes and chicory. Friends can also add other vegetables such as beans, broccoli and other vegetables for nuggets. The way to make tofu and vegetable nuggets is also very easy, so mothers don't have to bother making nutritious and delicious snacks for their beloved children. Besides the easy way, the materials I use are also ingredients that are easy to get from traditional markets.
Ingredients for making nuggets
The main ingredients that I use are:
8 pieces of white tofu
200 grams of potatoes
50 grams of chicory
100 grams of carrots
Additional ingredients and ingredients for the seasoning are :
12 tablespoons of wheat flour
3 tablespoons of starch
10 tablespoons of panir flour
3 shallots
5 cloves of garlic
2 candlenuts
3 red chilies
2 leeks
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 packet ground pepper
100 mL water
500 mL cooking oil
How to make tofu nuggets
First, I will process the vegetables. I started with the carrots, washed the carrots thoroughly and then cut them into small pieces. After that, put the carrot pieces into the blender.
Second, peel the skin of the potato, cut it into small pieces and then put the potato pieces into the blender.
Third, put the chicory pieces into the blender, previously I had chopped the chicory.
Fourth, chop the leek small, to make the blender process easier, then put the leek pieces into the blender.
Five, peel the skin of shallots, garlic and remove the red chili stalk, wash it clean. Then put the shallots, garlic, red chilies and hazelnuts into the blender.
Six, add salt and sugar to the blender.
Seven, add water to the blender, blender until all ingredients become soft.
Eight, prepare silken tofu/white tofu, then puree it.
Nine, mix the mashed white tofu with the mashed vegetables, stir until mixed.
Ten, add ground pepper according to taste, stir until all ingredients are well blended.
Eleven, add flour to the nugget mixture.
Twelve, add the starch to the nugget mixture, then stir until well blended
Thirteen, steam the dough for 12-15 minutes over high heat.
Fourteen, after 15 minutes check whether the nugget mixture is cooked, use a stick to check the dough, if there is no dough sticking to the stick, it means the nuggets are cooked, turn off the stove.
Fifteen, let the mixture cool, then put it in the fridge until the nugget mixture becomes hard, I insert the nugget mixture into the freezer for 1 hour.
Sixteen, after 1 hour in the freezer the tofu nugget dough starts to harden, we can shape it according to our taste.
Seventeen, coat the tofu nuggets with breadcrumbs.
How to Fry Nuggets
First, heat the cooking oil.
Second, put the tofu nuggets into the hot cooking oil.
Third, fry the nuggets until golden brown.
The result
The result is nuggets that are soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Serve while warm, we can also enjoy it with chili sauce and extra fresh tomatoes, it tastes yummy🥰
