Modern food is indeed increasingly mushrooming, even so, traditional snacks are still widely hunted by people for snacks while relaxing or drinking coffee. Sticky rice klepon is one of them. Sticky rice klepon is a wet snack that still exists today, klepon is also one of Indonesia's traditional snacks that is easy to find on the market. Although there are still many who sell it on the market, making it yourself is no less delicious, to make simple klepon you simply use sticky rice flour filled with sliced brown sugar and sprinkled with grated coconut.
Because at home there is a stock of sticky rice flour and the ingredients are also at home, let's see how to make it. Oh yes, I made this sticky rice klepon with 2 flavors, granulated sugar filling and brown sugar filling, because the kids prefer granulated sugar filling, I myself prefer brown sugar filling hehe, Curious about how to make it? Let's see the ingredients and steps to make it
Ingredients needed
- 250 grams of glutinous rice flour
- 2 tablespoons of rice flour
- Sufficient water (for dough)
- 1/4 teaspoon of pandan flavoring
- 1 teaspoon of salt (1/2 teaspoon for dough and half for sprinkling grated coconut)
Filling ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 50 grams of brown sugar / Javanese sugar
Topping ingredients
- Sufficient grated coconut
How to make it
First step: Finely comb the brown sugar for the filling, set aside
Second step: Take a pan, pour water into the pan, bring to a boil, after it boils slightly, turn off the stove
Step three: Prepare a container/basin, add glutinous rice flour, rice flour, pandan flavoring, salt and water, stir using a spatula first until slightly cool
Step four: Add water little by little, if it feels a bit cold, stir until it can be shaped using your hands
Step five: Take a little klepon dough, flatten it, fill it with sliced brown sugar, form a ball, some of me filled with granulated sugar. Round all the klepon dough until finished. Set aside
Step six: Prepare grated coconut and add salt, stir well
Suggestion: So that the grated coconut does not go stale quickly, steam the grated coconut for about 15 minutes,
Step seven: Heat the water, when it boils, add the klepon, wait until it floats, if it floats it means the klepon is cooked, remove and drain
Step eight: Coat the klepon with grated coconut, the klepon is ready to be served
Here it is! Glutinous rice klepon with melted brown sugar that melts in your mouth
This sticky rice flour klepon cake is really delicious, the texture is chewy, soft, and sweet with a brown sugar filling that melts in the mouth and a savory combination of grated coconut and pandan-flavored klepon dough. If asked how the klepon tastes with granulated sugar filling, for me it is just as delicious as the brown sugar filling, only I prefer the brown sugar filling because the sweetness of the brown sugar is stronger than the granulated sugar.
The kids are very happy, they say it tastes like mochi heheh, no need to wait a few minutes, the kids have finished it. Glad to see the kids really love klepon cake. That's all my post today, enjoy!
Thank you for reading my post and see you next time. Warm regards
