Someone in their crazy mind thought it would be a fun idea to post about socks collection in the new year. They must have been drinking too much wine on new years eve 😛 Even my Sweetpea thought the same. She said people normally think of smelly socks when you mention socks, and was wondering how I can make this rather unglamorous post into a glamorous one.
Let's start with something cute. My collection of socks would not be complete without my favorite Little Twin Star socks 😊 These were a present from my sister in law from Hong Kong. These are ankle socks and I have four pairs, but have only opened one so far.
Next are my invisible socks. They're not really invisible because you can see them, but they are when I wear them. These are not the most practical because they tend to slip down away into the shoe after a while. The white ones are particularly useless. The edges dig into my feet as there's no elastic and it hurts. They came in a pack of 10 and I've given the other 8 pair of new ones away. Luckily they were very cheap. There's always a reason for them being cheap.
These low ankle socks are better quality and I wear them when I wear my trainers, or sneakers as the American's call them. They're basic and does it's job. Other than that not much to talk about.
I bought these high ankle socks in Korea some years ago when I was on holiday. Like most Korean stuff, they're pretty good quality, especially the ones on the left. The ones on the right are more for fun, they have cute cartoon characters. The two pairs on the bottom have holes in the heel, they'll have to be binned, or maybe if I'm feeling very frugal and eco I may darn them.
These crew socks are my favourite. They're soft and the perfect length when wearing my boots which I wear all the time. I wish I could remember where I got them because I need more of them in case I get holes in them.
These Christmas socks came from Ukraine 💛💙 They are thick, but not too thick and very soft, perfect for winter. I love wearing them at Christmas, and that means I won't be wearing them too much during the year, and they will last me for years.
If you read my post about scarves for December Hive Collector topic, you may remember I said my mobile operators often gives freebies. These Ho Ho socks were from them. There made from synthetic fibre and doesn't keep warm. Great to add to the Christmas vibe though.
I wear these long warm socks when it gets very cold, which isn't often where I live. And when it gets too cold, I avoid going out if I can. But it's always nice to have a range of different length socks for cater for all occassions.
I even have these merino socks from Danish Endurance. They're a Danish company and does sports wear, mainly socks. The socks are very good quality and keeps my feet warm when I go hiking in the winter, which is not often now. I'm not sure why the green pair has started to fluff, but it hasn't started to break or get thinner. I think it still has a lot of life in them.
And finally, I call these home socks. Yes, I do wear socks at home to keep me warm in the winter, and they're so comfortable. Originally I didn't want to buy the pack of 10 because I thought it would be too many pairs. I still have 4 new pairs, have 2 in the wash, am wearing 1, binned 1 the other week as they have holes in them... and I don't know what happened to the other 2 pairs. Maybe father Christmas took them with him....
Hands up if you have a single sock at home 🤚Have you ever wondered how odd it is that a sock can disappear after a wash? This poor sock lost its other half and I was going to bin it. Then I figured with it being quite thick I can use it as a duster at home. It does that job very well and is now a happy dusock (don't bother googling this, I made this word up 🙃)
I'm sorry I couldn't make this post more glamourous, I don't have sexy long legs like the initiator of this crazy fun topic. Check out this post if you want to see who it is 😉
