Su post con una presentación impecable, me hizo pensar en algunos de los que nunca he fotografiado, ni hablado de ellos y otros que siempre están presentes en algún comentario por regalos que he recibido a lo largo de mi vida o que he comprado simplemente para disfrutarlos. Hasta de aquellas historietas de Mafalda que colocaba en el baño para motivar a mis hijos a leer.
No quiero olvidarme de invitar está es una iniciativa del mes de Marzo en la comunidad de Hive Collectors y @mipiano y si te animas muéstrame tu colección de libros y cuéntanos algo de su historia si así lo deseas;

What a lovely invitation I received from my lady of the three Ps
Her post, with its impeccable presentation, made me think about some books I've never photographed or talked about, and others that are always present in my comments because of gifts I've received throughout my life or that I've simply bought to enjoy. Even those Mafalda comics I used to put in the bathroom to encourage my children to read.
I don't want to forget to invite you to this March initiative in the Hive Collectors and @mipiano community. If you're interested, show me your book collection and tell us a bit about its history if you'd like;
Como hija de una familia católica no pueden faltar las biblias como libro presente en la biblioteca, pero muchas veces no tan leído como muchos quisieran. Pero este libro tiene otro significado mi suegra me lo regalo cuando me case con su hijo, aparentemente estaba pasando un legado. Impreso por Grolier 1957 en Nueva York, E.E.U.U. As the daughter of a Catholic family, Bibles are a must-have in our library, though often not as widely read as many would like. But this particular book holds a different significance: my mother-in-law gave it to me when I married her son, apparently passing on a legacy. Printed by Grolier in 1957 in New York, USA. I wasn't even born yet.
Mi escritor y obra favorita, Gabriel García Márquez un escritor a veces complicado de leer su realismo mágico, mezclando lo cotidiano con lo fantástico me llamo mucho la atención en mi adolescencia y ganador del nobel. Yo creía cuando lo leí que el ya estaba muerto pero resulta que vivía en México. Me hubiese encantado conocerlo y resulta que vivió en Caracas entre 1957 y 1959. Tampoco había nacido.

My favorite writer and work is Gabriel García Márquez, a writer whose magical realism, blending the everyday with the fantastic, sometimes makes him difficult to read. He captivated me greatly during my adolescence, and he was a Nobel Prize winner. When I first read him, I thought he was already dead, but it turns out he was living in Mexico. I would have loved to meet him, and it turns out he lived in Caracas between 1957 and 1959. He hadn't even been born yet.

Me encantaba comprar mensualmente mis revistas de selecciones y anualmente el almanaque mundial con todo esos datos, mis hijos se lo devoraban. Los chistes de selecciones, su secciones científicas, sus historias de grandes héroes, eran mis favoritas. Al igual que los libros de Mafalda con sus historietas las selecciones eran muy cómodas para leer en el baño. Luego en los almuerzos cambiábamos información sobre lo que leían y lo que les había parecido.

I loved buying my Reader's Digest magazines every month and the annual World Almanac with all that information; my children devoured them. The comics, the science sections, the stories of great heroes—they were my favorites. Like Mafalda comic books, Reader's Digest was perfect for reading in the bathroom. Then, at lunchtime, we'd exchange information about what they'd read and what they thought of it.
No pueden faltar los libros del pueblo de mis padres y abuelos Archena, España, con sus historias. I couldn't do without the books from my parents' and grandparents' village of Archena, Spain, filled with their stories. But the most interesting one is in French; it belongs to a relative on my mother's side, a Pérez, whom I found online. She was so inspired by what I was doing, putting together my family tree, that she traveled to the village to gather information and then wrote a book about her ancestors and their history, including me in it. She dedicated it to me and mailed it to my house. It's a great treasure to me.
Es maravilloso como puedo armar algunas historias a través de los libros, ellos han sido un gran tesoro para mi. It's wonderful how I can piece together stories through books; they've been a great treasure to me. I've told stories about my aunt, a nun who was sent to Venezuela, and that's part of why we ended up living here. She gave me a great treasure for my birthday. I was expecting a doll, but what I received were storybooks full of history. I still have them.
La otra biblioteca era la de los libros de estudio de los hijos, ahora guardan herramientas y alguno que otros libros, tesis de grado.

The other library used to be for the children's school books; now they store tools and some other books, including theses.
Me encanta la astrología y tuve algunos estudios y por supuesto libros para aprender. Tengo todas las cartas de nacimiento de mis hijos y la mia no puede faltar.

I love astrology and have studied it, and of course, read books to learn. I have all my children's birth charts, and mine is a must.
Estoy segura que tenia todos los libros de Harry Potter porque eramos lectores asiduos del tema. Pero al preguntar por ellos a mis hijos; los prestaron y todos sabemos que sucede con los libros que se prestan que nunca los devuelven, solo logre salvar este.

I'm sure I had all the Harry Potter books because we were avid readers. But when I asked my children about them, they lent them out, and we all know what happens to borrowed books—they never get returned. I only managed to save this one.
