Light scatters and bounces in these photos of water.
Hello Freinds.
Experimental photography is all about experimenting with different techniques to see what results you can get. For this particular photograph, I was interested in looking at the reflection of light from a cup. I thought it would be interesting to see the results.
As photographers, we use light to our advantage. We reflect light off of objects to determine color. Our eyes see this color and we capture it through our camera. Light is a wild substance. It can be harnessed and used to create beautiful images.
I thought some of these turned out ok... perhaps not the best, but interesting.
This is the first image. I was with my friends talking at a local shop when I noticed the reflected pattern of light. I took out my phone and started to take a few photos. Lol, my friends kept talking to me, however, at that point, I was in my own little world.
When you look at a glass of water, you see a reflection of light that makes a mandala-like pattern. This is because the glass of water is actually a lens that magnifies the light. The glass of water is a sacred geometry that has been used by many cultures for centuries. Perhaps the glass of water is a way to connect with the divine.
We experience light every day, but we don't often think about how it works. Light photons are reflected and bounced off of objects until they reach our eyes. One photo of light lives and dies at the same time, meaning we can experience this unique moment.
The light photons reflected off the coffee cup and into my eyes, created the image of a black hole. I thought about how the small scale mirroring of the large scale- we are but passing fragments of time. We try to hold on to things, but eventually, everything decays. Even the memories of our loved ones will one day fade away.
We are all made of light photons, the same stuff that makes up the stars. We are the echoes of the divine, left from their footsteps. We are shadows, left from their light.
The things we remember most fondly are often the things that we took the time to capture and preserve. In our lifetimes, we take countless photos but there are only a few that we truly love and cherish. These are the photos that make us laugh, the photos that make us cry, and the photos that remind us of cherished memories. When we look back, let's see the light we saved, the photos we made friends with, and the memories we will never forget.
Anyways, I guess I went off on a tangent (*again) today... so enjoy and talk to you later.
Cheers!
