I wonder what certain characters from stories can feel when they take away a life.
Assassins. For example, Dexter Morgan, from the series. I watched all the seasons. I read a book too, the only one I have got in book form. But I don't remember whether he used to feel nausea and distress, or nothing at all. He was a professional.
I am just a plant killer, with experience. I took my morning coffee, went to my balcony and saw the results of my latest cut. Disappointing.
To understand what I am writing about I have to bring you some background. So, after I came back from my summer trip I had to do some plant rescuing activities. Some started to rot and others were attacked by mealybugs and some plague too that I didn't notice on time. From three pots I got nine as I made cuttings, thinking there were plants I could save.
After a week or so, I realized I didn't do a good job with some of them. One of the succulents got worse and I had to cut off all the rotten parts and what the bugs under the soil damaged. It was a disaster. This is what was left after I played the role of hairdresser plantdresser saviour. I talked to the other mom of this plant (we have shared custody of some of these succulents) and got the advice to leave it for a few days on air. The wound should heal a bit, to dry, before I put it again into the soil. It was at the beginning of August.
I have done the rescue in that way. It even started to grow small roots, I saw it when I checked it two weeks ago. However, the plant has not been able to handle these radical interventions, but to be honest the other plants are not doing perfectly either. One can think that taking care of plants goes without losses.
It doesn't.
This is how the same plant looks today.
No comment for this sight!
Even the radio station I was listening to today in the car accompanied the scene. I recognized the style and the composer but was not sure about the piece. Then I asked Google Assistance and the answer I got... was this:
Maybe I should consider giving away those succulents that still live or planting them in nature, so they could have more chances to flourish.
Speaking about blooming... Yesterday I went to the shop where I usually buy my sweet onions and passed by the smiling tree. Do you remember that one? From this post.
So, the smiling tree bloomed. It is so pretty, look:
Well, it is not a great photo, and the flowers can't be appreciated from this angle.
Here comes a closer look at what the flowers look like.
Many of them were falling down from the tree so it seemed as if they were decorating the green grass around the tree.
It was still morning when I was there. It is a rare sight here in Spain to see water drops on the petals.
Although I went today to the supermarket again and passed by the tree, I better didn't touch any flowers. Just in case.
P.S. I know this blooming tree is not a succulent, so I am sorry if I break a community rule or similar. 🙏
