Hello Friends in Succulent growers community, today I will share my experience in caring for mother's tear succulent / Donkey tail / grape cactus (Sedum morganianum) so that it looks beautiful hanging in a pot.
a few days ago, my friends came to my house to see some of my plant collections. They were very interested in one type of succulent that I have, because the succulent they have is not as beautiful as my succulent. I told my friends that the succulent Donkey tail is a succulent that is very easy to care for, because it does not need special treatment to care for it.
a few months ago I posted how to propagate donkey tail succulents and today I will share my experience so that donkey tail succulents can hang beautifully in the pot and not clump in the pot.
Succulent donkey tail is shaped like a grape with a long dangling stalk that contains beautiful fruit grains, generally green and yellowish green.
The beauty of the donkey tail succulent lies in the beautiful grain of the fruit, the more and the longer the stalk, the more beautiful this sculent.
But for donkey tail succulent lovers, sometimes they are disappointed because the stalk that should contain fruit seeds but because the fruit falls easily, the stalk becomes less beautiful.
How do you keep the succulent grains from falling off the stems? The way we can do it is not to carelessly touch the seeds of the fruit and we should move the old stalks to a new pot. The old stems are yellowish and we can immediately plant them. After I move the old stalks into a new pot, the stalks will grow new succulents.
But if we don't replant the stalk, then the stalk will dry up and the fruit will fall to the ground.
as I said before that Donkey tail succulent is a type of succulent that is very easy to care for, this type of succulent doesn't like moist soil that's why I only water it once a month.
The succulent soil looks dry but my succulent is growing well.
To get to know the Donkey tail succulent family, here is the scientific classification of succulent Donkey tail:
Kingdom: Plantae
Subkingdom: Tracheobionta
Superdivision: Spermatophyta
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Subclass: Rosidae
Order: Rosales
Family: Crassulaceae
Genus: Sedum
Species: Sedum morganianum
so that the grain of the fruit dangles/hangs in the pot, then when the stalk begins to contain fruit, we can direct it outside the pot, so that the stalk containing fruit begins to grow towards the outside of the pot.
We do it once a month until the stems come out of the pot, try not to touch the seeds of the fruit when doing it, but hold the stem.
I don't know the exact number of succulent Donkey tail varieties, but I have two varieties. The first variety has a small grain shape and a slightly oval shape resembling a grape.
The second variety has a longer fruit shape.
Both varieties of sculen look beautiful. That's how I take care of sculen Donkey tail.
Thank you for reading my writing.
