Sublime Sunday
Blessed Sunday ReggaeJahmaz,
How has the weekend been treating yah? It was a fun but tiring weekend filled with a lot of kiddies time.... I almost didn't make this post😐.
This Sunday we went to a Sports and entertainment complex called "Round 1". It is a franchise that can be found all over Japan. There are so many things to do at Round 1 it is insane. Below are a few.
- Bowling
- Basketball
- Golf
- Tennis
- Rollerblading
- Video Game arcade
- Segway
- Billards
- Archery
- UFO Catcher
- Bull riding
- Karaoke
- and a lot more, also keep in mind, this place had 6 floors.
The initial plan was to do a BBQ by the river, but the weather had us doing otherwise. It din't rain that bad,but better not to take chances when kids are involved. Yup, going to Round 1 was mainly for the kids. We went with a bunch of friends and their rugrats so just imagine the chaos😧
Here is me strapped with my youngest, Aijah.
I took a lot of video footage on my mirror-less camera as I plan to dive back into vlogging like I used to, but that will take some editing so later for that. Below are some pics of the arcade and UFO catcher floor of this Round 1. This was closer to the end of the day when we had already finished up some sports. I messed with the archery, billiards, tennis rode a bull and some other shiznits. Other than that, I was walking around with baby Aijah strapped in front while filming and keeping an eye out for all the kids in our crew.
The arcade and UFO floor is a decent size. They also use a very interesting marketing strategy to get you down there once you have finished playing the sporty activities. What they do is give you "free" coupons to UFO catcher machines to try a couple times for free, they also give you free coins for some of the arcade games. Yup, they reel you the fvk in 🎣
The pic above was an interesting digital fishing game, they actually do the "throw the line" gesture and the digital line goes out and all these fish come chasing. At some point, super special monster creatures come out and I guess those are bonus points, but like all digital games the main aim is to take your money. 💸
Classics Remastered
What is the name of this Atari classic again? The name was right there in front of me but yeah. It was cool to see though, I like how they blend the old with the new and pew pew.Oh man this really looks good, I gotta try it next time. As you can see, my kids are in masks too ( except the youngest), but before some mofo asks "why are you making your kids wear masks blah blah"... this is Japan homey, masks aint nothing new here, they pop out every flu season or every-time a cute girl forgets to wear make up. Also, you can't enter places like this without them. And this is why the cases are low compared to the rest of the world... it would seem.
"Always strapped, when I hit the club"😂. While the rest of the gang were playing arcade games I just walked around and checked out the the "scenery". I would have contnued filming but I was asked to stop. All in all it was a good day and now everyone in my host is sleeping.
My Sunday Dinner
Yeah, so after that long day at Round 1, no one wanted to cook..especially me. I think I am the wrong person to run this contest, I barely cook on Sundays these days😅.. but remember, you can post pics of food you bought, it just won't win, but it will get voted in the comments.
For dinner it was sushi from Hamazushi, a very popular and affordable rotating sushi spot. What surprised me was that the sushi was still coming out of the conveyer without any cover. Corona nah keep again in Japan?😾
Below are some of the plates I had. Each one costs ¥100 yen or roughly a $1 / 1 HBD.
| Shrimp Tempura | Okura | Eel |
|---|---|---|
| Maguro | Salmon | Seafood Salad |
|---|---|---|
Be sure to tell your friends about this contest, I just upped the prize to 3 HBD to the winner. As time goes by I will tweak things around to benefit the entrants ( especially the winner) and to make things a little easier on myself. But enough long talk...YUSH, lets Dive into last weeks winner.
And the winner is...
🥇Congrats to with his steam fish & okra with many healthy foods on the side such as corn, pumpkin, and boiled dumplings. Now, this may seem like a bias win because it is Jamaican style, but I chose it because it was different and I couldn't tell the last time a had a whole fish in a meal. I really need to get back to the kitchen and make things my way. This is the type of dinner where the presentation doesn't even matter, you could eat everything right out the pot over the kitchen sink 🤣.
walks away with 1 HBD and 750 JAHM. I have never seen anything like this dish in my life. Congrats ! 🏆.
Runner Up
*I didn't plan to do a runner up section this week as I didn't get any free internet money on twitter 😆 But then came along with his Penne Pasta. Why did he have to make something that looks so good?
gets the runner up for this week as the pasta dish he made looked really delicious and well presented. The ingredients he used was interesting to see as well. I have never thought of putting black olives in a pasta, I guess I am not cultured enough😂.
walks away with 1swap.hive ( yeah I had to go into the Hive-Engine for this one) and 500 JAHM.
🏆 And now on to week 6 🏆
Welcome to the Dash Out Sunday Contest.
Dash out means to show or throw out. Below is a short background of the idea of the contest, 😀
In Jamaican and Caribbean culture, Sunday dinner is the most looked forward to and probably the most extravagant of the week. (Hmmm, but that’s probably Sunday dinner in any country right?) Dishes such as stew chicken with rice and peas, curry goat, oxtail just to name a few, delight many after their church service. ( well, those who do go to church).
With this simple contest I'd like to invite Hivers from all corners of the block to share a pic of their Sunday or Saturday dinner with us in the
community. It doesn't have to be Jamaican or Caribbean food but just made by you or a family member with love. Food brings the people together and while we can't physically taste what the food is like, we can see it and imagine.
Through this contest I hope to get a little more engagement within the community and also attract those outside of the community to Reggaejahm.
Rules
- Post a pic of your Sunday or Saturday dinner in the comments below. Original photos only. They are watching👹.
- If you bought food you can post a pic and get some votes but it won’t stand a chance of winning. The dinner must be prepared by you or a loved one to be eligible to win.
- Tell us a little about the dish in a few sentences and anything else you'd like to add.
- Re-blog and upvote this post.
- Subscribe to the ReggaeJahm community if you haven't already.
Feel free to make a complete post about your “Dash out Sunday” dinner in the Reggaejahm community or on ReggaeSteem.io. You can also use the tag #jahm from any HIVE Interface. Making a post is not mandatory.

There will only be one winner, and they will receive 3 HBD and 750 JAHM Tokens!

Contest ends in 3 days Japan time, but the winner will be announced when this post pays out.The winner will be chosen by me based on food presentation and yum factor.
