Sports training is the set of methods and physical exercises aimed at maintaining and improving sports performance, in amateur or professional athletes; this training includes in particular physical, technical, tactical and mental preparation2.
Training methods have been developed and perfected empirically, since the training of athletes in the ancient Olympics. They were refined from the twentieth century with the emergence of modern sport. More recently, scientific research and technological progress (physiology and medicine, analysis devices, etc.) have made it possible to understand the effectiveness of these methods and even to refine the training parameters.
