Hi,
This week I want to participate in the street art competition with a graffiti with a clear and strong message which is:
"The only race is the human race".
I like to share this mural this week as a vindication of this strong message, after having heard racist and xenophobic comments at the next table in the restaurant where I had dinner a few hours ago from some teenagers, which made me angry and saddened in equal parts.
Focusing on the graffiti, it is located next to a roundabout in the city of Ponferrada (León-Spain). What a coincidence or not that precisely a graffiti talking about racial equality is located in an avenue called liberty.
The author of the graffiti, according to information I have found on various websites, was the Basque muralist Javier Soto and, believe it or not, it is a work from 2014 and, therefore, is about to turn 10 years old and looks enviable.
Focusing on the mural, we can see that the artist has played with features of different ethnicities (African, Asian, Latin American, Caucasian, etc.) to capture the face of a woman who, in my opinion, is pleasantly attractive. As pleasant as seeing more and more cultures, more diversity and, at the same time, more miscegenation every day in the neighbourhoods I pass through.
In short, we are a single race which is the human race.
