The Cosmos NEIPA by Põhjala brewery
When you see this colorful artistic can, you cannot miss it. And, of course this was my choice for the beer when I visited the craft beer shop this week. Not only that, but it’s brewed by the Põhjala brewery in Estonia, so you cannot make a mistake with choosing this NEIPA.
And not only that, it matches the chaos and the colors in my living room with all these toys and children stuff. After all in cosmos there is only chaos, right? It was interesting for me to see if this can was stored properly in a cool place, because the main issue in summer is that you sometimes end with degraded taste, that is due to transport and storing outside of refrigerated places.
This NEIPA offers the unlimited freshness of the classic Mosaic and Citra hops, a very usual combination for a great tasting IPAs. As you can see, the head is decent and it is relatively long lasting. When I finished the beer there was still a bit of fine foam in the glass. Sounds good, right?
The color is bright yellow, a bit straw like and the beer is really hazy, as you can expect from a New England IPA. Looks very juicy.
When I tasted it, there were some signs of poor storage, but they were not critical. The fresh taste was still in the beer. I bet it was more intensive, when canning the priceless liquid, but the degradation was minimal. The carbonation of this exact beer is on the low side, yet in the guidelines of this beer style. This really makes it more juicy and refreshing. I am pretty sure, that the Mosaic and Citra hop combination is one of the best for this beer style, at least from my point of view.
I couldn’t resist it, both for taking a lot of different photos of the can and for drinking the beer itself. I felt that it was over in no time. May be less than 10 minutes. This is the main disadvantage of 330ml beers. They really tend to end too soon, especially when they are so tasty and delightful.
I wonder, are there such beautiful tastes in the endless Cosmos, or are they just here on the earth? If there aren’t any out there, then who would want to go in the outer space? We’d better stick to the ground and stay on our beautiful earth, right? Until the beer here is over, this is the place where I choose to live.
See you soon and enjoy these colorful photos!
Cheers!
