For this #beersaturday adventure, we jumped in the car to take a trip to nearby Viroqua, Wisconsin, to take in the last day of their farmer's market for the season. With my mother-in-law in tow, we also knew we had to check out the Driftless Cafe. The Driftless is one of the area's better restaurants, and we knew we must visit.
The market was fun good, as always. We picked up some fermented radishes, apple butter, and some sourdough bread. Yum! The Amish happened to be onsite too, so I grabbed a jar of pickles too...we even saw their horses.
After the market, we then headed over to the Driftless Cafe. I knew it was going to be a beer lunch kind of day and went with a Bell's Two Hearted on tap.
Here was the food menu, too:
For me, the loaded grilled cheese lookws like a winner. I got a potato and leek soup to start:
Then the sandwich itself:
Of course, I managed to have my first beer nearly gone by the time to the meal made its way to the table.
Time for round two!
I still need a haircut, big time! Overall, today was a great day for a family adventure. the food was good, the beer was excellent, and we managed to make the last day of farmer's markets a true celebration. I even picked up a Driftless Bigfoot "Believe" shirt too; I couldn't pass on that!
Thanks for checking out my #beersaturday post! I hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday too!
