Some time ago, I and my dance friends went out to bond and have an all-girls lunch out. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of the food we had that day because we got all so caught up in sharing our life stories (yes, tears were shed too, I know - cheesy but what do you expect from us women 😂) but it would be a waste not to share this awesome place I discovered here on Hive. Right, on to it then.
The place is called DRIP AND DRAFT. Just by the name of it, it doesn't even sound like a place to get food, right? Well, they specialize in COFFEE & BEER! Crazy, right? It was my first time coming to a place that both serves coffee and beer! Such a perfect place for a group of friends who prefer one over the other but can still bond together. I guess, the food was just an addition to their main specialties but mind you the food was equally delicious just as the drinks they were serving.
From the outside, the place looks pretty simple with glass walls where you can see the inside if the place is full or not. During our visit, the empty tables and chairs outside indicated that there weren't many customers.
As we went inside, the first thing I noticed was the wooden floorboards that brought a warm vibe to the place. Then my eyes were drawn to the wooden shelves surrounding the wall which was filled with a lot of their merchandise - mostly coffee makers and tumblers. The overall design was contemporary which made it different from the usual café or restaurant that I go to. One thing I noticed was that the place was generously spacious. Like they didn't fill up the place with tables and chairs for the sake of it.
I like this section with three big brown leather sofas. Seems warm and inviting. Just a cozy spot to chill with your friends with a cup of coffee or perhaps beer! Your choice. The wall painting of Magellan and Lapu-Lapu sitting and holding their drinks smiling makes it more amusing. For those who didn't know, Magellan and Lapu-Lapu are two big historical figures of our place. One got killed.
We decided to stay at the center table and settled in. We went to the counter and choose the drinks and food we wanted. If I remember right, I ordered pasta and another friend ordered fish & chips and some coffee. Their food ranges from entrees, burgers, and sandwiches, to pasta, and rice meals. Their drinks range from coffee (roasted, drip, etc) to beer (craft, leger, ale, etc) to fresh juices and shake. There was a variety to choose from.
The only thing that was a bit concerning was the long waiting time for the food to be served. Good thing, we killed it with our long, endless chit-chat. Another saving grace was the food was delicious! I do regret a little forgetting to take some photos of them. Regardless, I didn't regret giving my full attention to my friends during our conversation.
I think that's it for now. If you ever head to Cebu City and looking for a place to chill, DRIP AND DRAFT is located at Streetscape, Paseo Saturnino. They are open 24 hrs every Wednesday, and the rest of the week they are open till 12 AM.
