In this blog, I will show you how I spent the money I earned easily from doing a farm job.
It was my daughter's first day of school when Angelle told me to get the money we had from the boss. At that time we already had 2,500 pesos that was sent not Angelle's Gcash account then we decided we decided to divide the money. we gave 100 to Thommy for the ride, 400 for food allowance for the co-workers we had on the accounting and we both had 1,000 pesos.
Just in time, I needed new uniforms for my daughters so I decided to make the money last by buying them uniforms for school.
This is how my daughters look like on the first day of wearing their new uniforms. Czak was on the frame too.
They look so happy, aren't they?
Do you remember those days when you were bought with new clothes too? It's nostalgic!
On the store
But this is how it went when buying them the uniforms. I actually wanted to buy them uniforms online because it was way cheaper than the ones sold in my place. The city is not a great option either because I don't have time to go there and the kids have their classes already.
On the night of the kid's first day of school just right after I got back form my work, I took teh kids to Foronda's Mini store (not sure of the name though). I had to take the kids to measure the uniforms on them so that it won't be too big or small.
The store had many customers because they had lots of uniform supplies and cheaper than anywhere else.
We took a stop on the mirror to take a selfie
Chaos
Inside the uniform department was chaos! Maybe the customers that went before us lost their minds or they just don't have respect for the sellers and the staffs.
I did not dare come to that part; the good thing is that the girl's uniforms are on the other side but is messy too. I even had a hard time to find a smaller blouse for Laling.
Fitting
Finally, I found the right sizes but to make sure that the uniforms would last (they could wear them for a few years, I chose a bigger size than they should wear. I took with me 's skirt and a blouse(because she already had two old blouses that are still wearable at home) and laling's skirt and two blouses.
While I was digging the piles, the girls entertained themselves by looking around
Payment
There was a long queue of customers waiting to pay on the counter; There were only three tellers but they are fast and good too.
The kids are looking at the stickers
While waiting for the Item I bought, I found this pricelist posted on the wall but they always give 3-8 pesos discount on each item. Maybe that made their store call more customers.
When we got out of the store, I also bought dried fish and vegetables for dinner's viand.
All that was left of 1.000 pesos that I had were these coins. So sad that prices soared high but at least I was able to provide for my childs' needs. That's how life is now, we work to provide and every day, we work to be alive and thrive.
When we walked our way home, my daughters volunteered to bring the uniforms we just bought and showed them to their granny. Later that night, I asked my husband to wash them so they would be ready on the next school day.
And so here they are, very excited. However, I had to make some adjustments to the skirts for them to fit on my daughter's hips.
My daughter's excitement brought nostalgia to me. I remember so well way back in my elementary days when I had a new uniform for school. I was really happy having them especially since it came from dressmakers in our locality. Way back in my time, uniforms were so expensive that my Ma chose to buy fabric in the city and asked our relatives to sew them for me. The uniform lasted for three whole years from third grade to sixth.
It was a very nice uniform and was made into a pillow cover later.
I will take a leave for now, and that folks is how I spent the money I earned so easily and fast adn I am very happy that I could see my daughter's uniforms almost daily and it inspires me to do more. I hope there will be more jobs like that soon.
What about you, how did you manage to buy your kids uniforms for this school year?
