Good day everyone! Zak here from Cape Town, South Africa with another Warhammer 40,000 lore post! I have finally come back full circle, posting the 4th of the four Greater Gods of Chaos, the youngest of the lot - Slaanesh.
Like the post I did yesterday about the Drukhari, this reveals that the most depraved Aeldari were responsible for the birth of this God, known as Sai'lanthresh to them.
Since the birth of this God is still considered long before Humanity ran around the galaxy, Slaanesh might as well have always been there. The God of Lust, Pain, Pleasure, Sound, Hedonism and anything to do with the senses taken to the extreme.
This Chaos God feeds on all of that. Which probably makes it able to tap in to a lot of emotions and psychic emanations of living things in both war and times of relative peace. When people are having a good time or a bad time, it generally loves it that you have a REALLY good time or a REALLY bad time!
Generally, all the Chaos Gods are not completely enemies nor completely allies, there is a Rivalry with Khorne. Pain and bloodshed lie in close with one another, therefore having a victim suffer for a long time would be seen as an act of devotion to Slaanesh, while a quick, if brutal kill would be seen as an act of worship to Khorne.
Nurgle imbibes a bloodless, and numb corruption, and where Tzeentch is concerned all laws of reality and perception could be twisted and bizarre.
Besides the Drukhari, many mortals follow Slaanesh. Among the Traitor Legions the Emperor's Children are dedicated to this God and Noise Marines make up their signature unit.
Their Primarch was Fulgrim... the pretty boy of the Primarchs. Super pretty. Super perfect and precise. This Legion always strove for excellence.
As a Daemon Prince/Primarch Fulgrim is envisioned as follows:
And when we look at the Daemons dedicated to Slaanesh we can see how this all fall together.
Lesser Daemons include Daemonettes and Fiends.

Overall the Slaaneshi Daemons are faster than the others. They do not have the brute strength of Khorne Daemons or the toughness of Nurgle Daemons. They have some magic, but obviously not as much at Tzeetch Daemons.
What they do have is speed to travel across the board, the ability to seize the first strikes and to avoid strikes from the enemy through smells and lures. Then rending into the enemy with high damage.
Much like the Drukhari, they put out more damage than most but take damage less well than most. The Glass Cannon.
Less so are the Emperor's Chilren, being Chaos Space Marines, they have Power Armor and heavily armored tanks. But with extra speed and sonic weaponry.
All in all, none of these armies are a pushover on the battlefield!
That's it for now!
