Today I slept in a bit. No small feat for a dude sleeping in the living room in a household with three rambunctious kiddos. I finally rolled out of bed at nine, and was up and at em just before ten. After that, I got Sophie's baseboards wrapped up, took a truckload to the dump, and went to Lowe's for some things.
After Lowe's I hooked up the master toilet, set up Sophie's bed and dresser, and got my tools moved and set up to do baseboards in the next room. I think next will be the boys' room, then my room, then the hall.
At some point, I need to take the p trap out of the crawlspace to get a replacement. There's too many options at Lowe's for me to just get one. , I wonder if that's the water pipe the runes talked about... I'm making a conscious effort to keep it in my mind.
We had a small homesteady crisis somewhere in all that mix too. One of the six baby buns got separated from the pile of baby buns and got cold and stopped moving. When I got in there to check on things, I realized I never drilled a drain hole in that nesting bucket. So the best was pretty damp from getting a little rain blown in it. Not a lot, the pile of buns was still warm, but it was enough to may down the nest bedding.
So we picked a bunch of dried grass from mowing and made a little nest for the buns. Mombun checked it out shortly afterwards and seemed to say it was acceptable. Coldbun came inside and got snuggled up in a warm towel in a box til she got active again. After that, we reintroduced her and mombun allowed her back in the pile of buns. I'm calling coldbun a girl because she damn well better be a girl. Melissa said she's not gonna spend the energy to save the bun just to eat it in a few weeks.
Pile of buns in the wet-ish nest
The pile buns are really getting cute. They're getting soft fur and their colors are showing. Since tamuks are a composite breed, they throw a random coloration of buns. They have a smorgasbord of color possibilities. These ones are crossed with a new Zealand white; the quintessential domesticated breed with white fur and red eyes.
Well, that's it from me for the day. Y'all have a good Thanksgiving. I'm out.
