Hello everyone, still in celebration of world environment day, I chose to make a plastic bottle garden.
I always say that plastics remain one of the things that cause the most pollution to our environment. Plastics are not biodegradable, they don't degenerate and they don't disappear. They only accumulate. The sad thing is that they even accumulate in the ocean.
Plastics have big uses in today's world. A lot of companies package their products in plastic containers. So many things we consume these days are packaged with plastic, and that leaves a lot of plastics in circulation.
This project is very simple and it would help us make use of left over plastics. It's also a way of beautifying our space.
Let's get into it.
Materials
- A plastic bottle
- A pair of scissors.
Steps
Step 1
First, I cut out the upper triangular part of the plastic bottle.
Step 2
From the remaining body, I cut out the bottom part. This will serve as the base
Step 3
Next is to make a hole the size of the bottle cap on the base I cut out. So I put the bottle cap on the base and traced its outline.
After that, I cut out the middle of the base, and I inserted the upper triangular part of the bottle into the hole I made in the base. You can see that the base is upside down, to give the craft a unique look and some balance.
Then I screwed back the cover of the bottle. This is to enable me add water without it pouring out.
Step 4
I put some plants in the plastic and then I added water.
That's it.
Like I said earlier, this is a very simple project and it can be used for aesthetics. So instead of discarding plastics, we get to upcycle them. In addition, those who love to plants and gardens would love this project.
This is the only planet we have. So we have to take care of it as much as we can, and we can do that by taking care of our environment.
I hope you enjoyed this project. Thanks for reading.
