Hello everyone. As part of the #aliveandthriving initiative, I welcome you to the Wednesday Wellbeing Club, of which I participate. Just wanted to let everyone know again that I'm alive and thriving this second week of October. We're almost finished with our wellbeing plan. Only one month left.
I want to share with you my progress in Week 9. Also, it wouldn't hurt to share some information about the Wellbeing Club that's hosted by over in the Natural Medicine Community.
The Club kicked off its initiative on Wednesday, August 11. However, you can join in any time. You can also read about it here: Wednesday Wellbeing Club | 11 August - 24 November | Week 1: Wednesday 18 August 2021.
When announced the Wednesday Wellbeing Club initiative in August during the Saturday Savers Club meeting on the
account, I was enthused that it fit perfectly with my new perspective of making a permanent lifestyle change. Living with underlying medical conditions make one think about long term health solutions.
Being a part of the Wellbeing Club has given me this opportunity. It also provides me the time to address some issues that may not be serving me well. That's where 's initiative on Wednesdays helped. You can view her latest Wednesday report here: Wednesday Wellbeing Club | 11 August - 24 November | Week 7: Wednesday 29 September 2021.
The Wednesday Wellbeing Club is about making changes you desire for your overall health. Then, you work toward your goals you set. It's not about adhering to changes others make for you.
I adopted the Club's Rule of Fives as my guideline. Then I tailored them to fit my personality and well being agenda. The ability to create my own Rules and work within the Club's framework is easy. That way, I'll be able to fully maintain my wellbeing plan.
Here is my Rule of FOURS for each week:
- Lose 2 lbs.;
- Enjoy 4 x 30-minute sessions of physical activity (either indoors or outdoors);
- Eat 4 x (1/2 cup combined) - portions of fruit and vegetables each day;
- Get 4 nights x 8 hours sleep.
- Carve out 4 x 30-minute sessions offline either with family or self-indulgence quiet time.
WHEN THINGS GO WRONG
In a previous post by , she provided tips on how she handles issues when things go wrong and how it affects your wellbeing. She asked, "do you have any tips for when things go wrong? Because they surely will!"
Let's see how well I did in Week 9:
| Activity | Goal | Week 9 | To Date | On Target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weight | -2 lbs. week | -.75 | -7 | -7.75 lbs. lost. |
| Physical Activity | 4 (sessions; 30 min. each)/week | 3 | walking; exercise bike | |
| Eating | 4 x (1/2 cups each; fruits/veggies) per day | 4 | lots of fruits & veggies this week. | |
| Wellness in Sleep | 4 nights x 8 hrs. | 3 | need to get back on track | |
| Offline Wellness | 4 events | 4 | quiet time and online creative work |
Wellness: Keep Focused
I'm back to my normal routine. One half to one pound per week has been the normal since I started the wellbeing plan on August 11. The key for me is exercise.
I find that my exercise bike fits my needs perfectly since I have arthritis in my knees and back. Also, the past few weeks, I've seen an increase in my strength as the weight is beginning to show now after having lost over 7 pounds.
I had a good one. I'll continue to strive to reach all my goals. As with any goal, I'll just continue to follow my new Wellbeing Club RULES OF 4.
See you next Wednesday everyone for Week 10 of the Wellbeing Club. If you are participating in any lifestyle change program, I'd love to hear what you are doing or your program that works well for you.
