It's the summer season here and it is really hot. To make things worse, the humidity is quite high, too.
On a walk with my sister, we spotted this simple little restaurant which serves our favorite summer refreshment. We call it "halo-halo" where I live, which means "mixed or stir". It's got mixed ingredients like sweet potatoes, boiled banana, tapioca pearls, jelly, whole kernel corn, cheese, etc. topped with shaved ice, evaporated milk, a scoop of ice cream --or purple yam (ube) custard, flan, or caramelized jackfruit. At this place, the featured topping is jackfruit.
It's absolutely refreshing, and sitting there in an air-conditioned, cozy room during a summer walk is truly a breather. 🥰
