Hello and welcome to yesterday's #actifit activity report¹
Yesterday was a rest day ( Saturday in Israel is like Sunday in the rest of the world ) and I went cycling on almost empty intercity roads. My goal was to search for a shorter rout from my hometown of Holon to the city of Rosh HaAyin. The idea was to use some gravel paths between small villages.
I didn't manage to reach my goal. The shortcuts turned out to be of too poor quality for my liking. However I cycled through a lot of new places that I think you will find interesting. I will share the photos I took in a chronological order as I encountered them on my trip.
The city of Ganei Tikva
This one of the paths I took while cycling through the city.
There are a lot of interesting roundabout art in the city. I took some photos of them.
These are aluminium cast statues. I have encountered this type of artwork before in other cities. The interesting thing that they are always of this solid navy colour. It makes them stand out but blurs the important details.
In one of the smaller gardens I found this two incredible lion sculptures.
Nearby, the utility water cabinet became SpongeBob.
The village of Kfar Sirkin
While passing through the village I came upon another interesting roundabout art.
This flamingo roundabout is dedicated to Gedalia Hasid.
A massive #Alive and Thriving Black eyes Susan vine in the village.
As I passed beyond the village onto the gravel roads I found myself under a road bridge.
Street art under the bridge
The path just beyond the bridge. This is the furthest point of my trip.
The city of Yahud
On my way back I decided to cycle on a
different route. It was a good decision because I explored new city and was very lucky to find a very interesting house.
The house is hidden from the main road and I would have never spotted it if I didn't stop in a nearby garden to drink water.
The house decorated with bottle caps and faces made from canisters and bottles.
There is also a giant bottle cap mandala.
So far, I have never seen anything like this.
I hope you enjoyed my trip. It didn't go according to plan, but those are the best kind of trips.
