In Abu Dhabi
We were supposed to stay in Dubai for two days. We went around Dubai but sisterette felt it was short, so we extended another day.
Finally, we are now in Abu Dhabi and I got to show her around. It's not as fancy as the cosmopolitan Dubai, but Abu Dhabi is cultureally rich and more laid back. It's time to unwind.
Qasr Al Watan Presidential Palace.
Qasr Al Watan is one of the places that a tourist should not miss when in Abu Dhabi. It boasts of the beautiful Arabic architecture and culture. It is not free- entrance ticket costs Dhs 65 (~$17) per adult, but it is so worth it.
We reached there at about 3pm. We took some pictures at thr courtyard before coming inside the palace. Then we went inside and enjoyed the stunning interiors and exhibits inside.
Truly majestic!
We stayed inside long enough to walk around then we headed outside again.
We were to wait until the Palace in Motion, a light show scheduled to start at 7.30pm.
We had lots of time to explore the palace garden and enjoy the view, until sunset.
An hour before the show started, we positioned ourselves at the front and center to get an unobstructed view of the show.
The marshals there were so composed and knew what they were doing. Like clockwork, they were able to clear the people before the show started.
When the show ended, they were also able to usher the crowd like sheep following the shepherd towards the free shuttle bus that brought us back to the visitor's center.
I wrote about my Qasr Al Watan experience in 2020. Did anything change? Hmmm, yes. Because this time we stayed until it closed to witness the enchanting light show.
Time-permitting, I will write more about it in the coming days (or weeks, I don't know)
