Yesterday reminded of years ago and I just realized that there no level of modernization and civilization that will take away the true African spirit.
In those days, a typical African family didn't lack this sweeping material and we call it "Ndiyang" in our native dialect.
This thing had a natural ability of making the user sweep faster than normal because it is wide.
Cleanliness and serenity brought men to men to inventing a natural means of cleaning the environment.
This sweeping material is costless and accessible to all. All you need to make this is a matchet and a nearby bush around you.
I personally grew in a rural area that allowed us to raise some domestic animals like goats dogs etc and for us it use easy to make this kind of sweeping materials because left overs of fodder for our goat would be trimmed later and we get our sweeping materials.
The most amazing thing about sweeping the native way is that it is attracts people and even children love to see you pulling that heavy things to push dirt away from the ground.
And yesterday as I swept my friends came around.
They made the whole sweeping process fun.
