My day began with work; I worked pretty much non stop from around 8:30 this morning until just after 4 this afternoon. Whew!! A super busy day for sure! I was glad when it was quitting time.
After a few errands to the bank, grocery and post office, I headed for home. The top of Sumas mountain was frosted white from the day’s snowfall. I was driving and couldn’t snap a picture. Once home, I grabbed a quick snack and we headed out for a hike.
We met Jan at the driveway and headed on up. Getting off a little earlier on Fridays adds a little more daylight so we were able to head up into the mountains rather than doing country roads hiking. The sun had come out from behind the clouds.
I was able to get a couple angles of sunsets. It was simply beautiful!
As we descended, we ran into this nocturnal sentinel perched on a telephone wire.
It was too dark to get much detail but his silhouette was quite stark against the waning evening sky. He never bothered to fly away which I found kind of interesting, but continued to watch our progress as we moved on.
It’s been a hectic day for me and I am tired tonight. I am looking forward to bed.
