It was coffee roasting day! I have a customer out of Portland, Oregon and this time she wanted 3 pounds for herself and 2 for a friend. After I got those done, I needed to work on the computer for a bit.
I shopped online for some green coffee beans and am expecting 130 pounds sometime this week. I was also now out of 1 pound bags, so I got those ordered as well.
By this time it was afternoon and time to go for a hike.
When we got up to Keith and Lynne’s driveway, it was very apparent they had dumped a nice thick road base on it. It needs to be packed down, but I’m sure their work crew will take care of that.
It was a beautiful day for a hike in the forest! The temperature was in the low to mid 60’s with a breeze and glorious sunshine interrupted by intermittent fluffy clouds. There were some rain clouds dancing on the northern side of things, but they never did materialize.

Wellington is the nice looking tan in the green shirt. Windsor is the cutle little lamb in the purple shirt, and of course, 
In our hikes lately, I’ve been sending the change of season coming, maybe a bit earlier than usual. Today on our hike, I went looking for the subtle changes I’m seeing in the forest indicating that fall is indeed close.
We have a huge amount of Oregon Grape in the under growth of the forest in which we hike. As the plant ages, the leaves turn to crimson, seemingly more so in the fall, although I have seen it in spring and summer.
The grapes on the plant turn a pretty shade of blue as well.
The rose hips berries turn brilliant red and are ready to pick.
There are many other signs as well especially with the under growth. I can hardly wait as it’s my favorite time of year!
