as i was walking briskly back home, i recalled how filled the day went.
dinner at the outback
we headed for dinner, a sumptuous one came to mind.
the place had an australian theme, and food were on the large portions, i thought.
we had to go through this great facade first.
this store front was an eyecatcher.
but this bar was an eye opener for all the different reasons.
we came in a bit late, the main goal was filling the stomach.
party could come when time permits.
we ordered food to share, great decision.
that allowed us to taste more flavors.
the staff were a bit generous, our onion blooms were on the smaller portion side; the onions probably fell off or it was a smaller onion in the first place.
we had a second helping of that.
we filled our stomachs, that quesadilla was a hit for me.
but looking back, is quesadilla even australian?
creamy chicken and shrimp pasta was also great, and the baby backribs was a heavy seller.
oh, their bread servings were unlimited.
as we were a bit late, the tabs came earlier, but with a surprise.
it was note the price, but the note that came with it.
we were a bit loud, but no one ever said anything about where we came from.
plus, we were using a different language from the main language of our country and yet they knew of where we came from.
that "salamat po" definitely put a smile to my face, that made it so personal.
that meant "thank you" in filipino, by the way.
our own version of the olympics
before the dinner, we came from a heavy competition.
our mini version of the olympics, darts!
yes, it is a game not even in the olympics.
to my surprise, and
proceeded to take out their pins, oh these are serious competitors.
after hours and hours of seemingly neverending darts rounds, our time limit came.
the staff signalled, we were up in 10 minutes.
we were now in a rush.
and now that we were, aiming at bullseyes became more and more easy apparently.
this round of 15 had bullseyes from each player.
i guess we work better under pressure, true testaments of our it profession background.
i eventually ended up winning that round, it was the only one i won in as i recalled.
just look at that aiming stats, that is indeed a personal best for me.
if you were to enter the olympics, in what sports will you participate in?
strolling along the roppongi hills
a little earlier around 2 pm, we strolled the shopping hills.
roppongi hills was not of the natural type but a natural human instincts to curb the urge to shop.
it was one of those high end malls and malls of this calliber have so much going on in them.
you can live in them for weeks if only they don't close, enough things to do and be distracted.
this one is one of those distractions, these blue creatures are lovely.
best sellers among the kids and the young at hearts, we took some snaps with these blue creatures as well.
doraemon was nothing but adorable.
oh yeah, here is another distraction, the coffee shop with the sea maiden in as it's logo.
just took a picture of the releasing area, that sign just reminded me of a taxi stand.
a little taste of thailand
for lunch, it was in a quaint little shop at the corner of a busy street.
thai food!
no one will object to thai food in this friend group.
blue papaya, quite unique for a name.
so random in fact, just like picking a random color and a thai famous fruit.
i jokingly asked how to make a papaya blue, no one answered.
now, the shop had unlimited helpings of their side dishes.
they offered cabbage slices for salads, another salad type vermicelli, and cabbage soup with heaps of coriander.
coriander, also known as cilantro, is not for everyone though.
i am all for it though, no complaints from me.
and the main dish was holy basil chicken stir fry, pad gra pao!
nothing but praises from me.
yeah, it was a common dish, one of the basics for thai cuisine i suppose.
but i am happy with it.
do you have any recommendations for thai dish?
i can probably try that for the next time.
the early engagement
i had to wake up early, my appointment for a korean visa was up.
we were planning for a korea trip, we sadly need a visa to get there though.
hopefully our applications get approved.
it was an activity filled friday indeed.
hope you had some fun with me.
