Every person should know that the first meal of the day is the most important. It is because the body has been fasting the whole night during rest, and by morning, the remaining energy from the last meal the day before would have been used off by 16 hours.
Many people think just getting a donut or some sweet bread and jam will work to boost the energy, but recently I found an article and a video online that speaks about the dangers of taking processed sugary food first thing in the morning.
It is because it will create a glucose spike that will temporarily give the body enough energy for approximately 2 - 3 hours; however, once the energy is used up, instead of just feeling hungry, the body will start craving for sugar because of its "quick fix" addiction.
That is why a lot of people said during the era of Opium wars, to get a person addicted to smoking opium, a dessert or at least a sweet fruit will be presented, so that the Chinese people when first tried the opium will immediately have that "Dopamine effect" and the brain latched into addiction happens.
That is why even if I am taking fruits for breakfast, high fiber like roll oats and good fat like avocado needs to be part of the mix. This will slow down the sugar absorption and the energy production will not spike immediately, hence the energy should last longer.
Another better way is to eat clean savory food. Which I have tried also and it could last me 5 hours! That’s definitely another great way to educate our body to take relevant meals (2 meals a day) for better health!
