It rained a bit last night and throughout the day. The heat isn’t as intense as it was a few weeks ago, but the humidity makes up for it!
The morning found us already on the trail under the canopy of the forest when the rain came over again. Hearing the raindrops on the tops of the trees adds to the peace of the woods. We stayed dry for awhile at first thanks to the canopy catching the rain.
Mia the Wonder Aussie chose the trails today, and added an entire extra trail onto our hike. We hadn’t taken this part of the trail before and I figured since it was a loop that it wouldn’t take too long. I was wrong!
wasn’t too pleased that she picked the trail less travelled; he was in front which means he got the brunt of the spiderwebs today. And this new trail had plenty of them!
We’ve hiked the main trail enough to lessen the webs but this new part hadn’t been used in quite some time judging from the massive webs across it.
The rain finally did break through the canopy and before long we were soaked.
It was a beautiful, peaceful hike, but I was exceptionally glad to get home and take a shower afterwards!
Mia choosing the trails.
We found several passion fruit vines growing through a grassy open area on the trail. I wonder if the turtles and armadillos will get to them before we do?
I thought this mushroom had an interesting look to it. It’s a type of Boletes, according to PictureThis. I think the turtles get to most of these.
Something about this Suillaceae made the 6 year old in me take its picture. 😂
The mushrooms in the forest are becoming giants! This Agaricus was humungous.
After our hike, we worked on our daily activities and chores, and spent a few hours in the workshop on gemstones and jewelry making. And before I knew it, it was time to post. And now it’s time for bed!
Have an amazingly Actifitty day, wherever you are out there, fellow Hivers!
