Another amazing day here in our #ozarklife.
The sun was out all day, but it was refreshingly cool in the forest.
and I took a new trail offshoot today. This one led down to a creek that’s on the verge of running again. Pools of stagnant water eagerly await the rush of the rain to become fresh again.
Not for the next ten days, however, according to our 10 day forecast!
Sunshine is in our days ahead for now.
The season is changing though, slowly and almost imperceptibly. The forest shows it in the leaf piles next to the trail and the leaves that fall quietly at our feet, and the furious nature of the squirrels and chipmunks trying to store food.
Here are a few pictures of our #hike today.
According to PictureThis, this sweet yellow flower is called Greater Tickseed. That is a sad name, and it doesn’t make me want to stand around admiring them!
The Sumac is changing to red. It will be a glorious show of fall colors soon(ish)!
While the leaves may be falling and the sumac is turning red, this Birdfoot Violet doesn’t seem to care~ it just sees the sun!
I hope y’all have an amazing day/night wherever you’re at on the globe. Sending good vibes out to all from our tiny spot on the Earth!
