The day started with rain, and a lot of it. It stopped just in time for and I to hit the trail with Mia the Wonder Aussie before the forecasted cold front came over our part of the Ozarks.
The rain refilled the previously dry creeks all along the trail. The sound of trickling water was a welcome addition to the trail ambiance!
The colors in the forest never cease to amaze me; the moss growing on these tree scales looked almost neon in the forest light.
We saw some Three Toed Box turtles, out enjoying the rain-refreshed forest.
One pair was so excited by the rain they decided to try to get it on, right in the middle of the trail. They will probably still be there tomorrow!
Mia has started wearing booties on the trail, as I’m tired of having to pull burrs and leaves out of her paws. She loves them now that she’s gotten used to them; she lifts her paws for me to put them on when we’re ready for our hike.
Other than hiking, we ran a few errands, did some chores, and had an overall awesome ozarklife day.
Have an amazing day/night, wherever you are, fellow Hiveans!
