Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, we just began the second week of the year and I have had a great day. It's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye. As always thank you for reading and let's get it done 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some world cup which I will share next. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹, The Congo peace talks have moved over to Nairobi, as a permanent solution is sought for lasting peace in the region.
Globally, Brazil still trending after the supreme court, congress and govt buildings were stormed by former president's supporters 🙀. Today security forces restored order and arrested over 1,500 people for being part of the fracas. Various world leaders have also come out to condemn that attack on democracy.
Up in the US, president Biden is on his first trip to Mexico since he became president, this ahead of the three amigos summit. Also trending, nurses in New York went on strike over wages and staffing levels.
Trending in Europe, Serbs in Bosnia Republika Srpska entity were marking the 31st anniversary of the entity's founding, despite a court ban against the event🙀. The event is said to be discriminatory against non Serbs.
Over in Geneva, there was a major UN conference to help raise money for rebuilding Pakistan after last year's devastating floods. The damage estimated at over $30 billion dollars 🙀. Countries pledged over $9 billion to begin the process💯.
Finally, trending in Iran, 3 more death sentences handed to protesters 🙀. Just this Saturday two were already executed😭. The regime there doing the most to instill fear in protesters.
