January is flying by (Eng/Esp)

Walking around to find competitive prices for medicine and food usually takes quite a long time, especially when prices vary greatly from one place to another or you can't find what you're looking for and therefore have to look for alternatives. In this regard, walking around downtown Cumaná has become a routine task for me.

I took advantage of this walk to go to the electricity service's commercial office, something I should have done some time ago, but other priorities always came up, especially at the end of the year. Now I was able to visit the place and ask a question about my bill. As you can see in the photos, the streets were almost deserted, so I was attended to immediately.

The city center was quiet, the kind of quiet that makes you wonder about the days ahead. Venezuela is certainly going through tense times, but in the first weeks of January, there is little traffic because there is no money on the streets and therefore people avoid going out without a reason.

In my case, I have become accustomed to walking and do so routinely, so this urban tranquility contributes to my concentration and, therefore, to my physical and mental health. Arriving home after a long walk, with my assigned tasks completed, is undoubtedly a source of great satisfaction.

Caminar para encontrar precios competitivos en medicinas y alimentos suele llevarse bastante tiempo, sobre todo cuando los precios varían demasiado de un lugar a otro o no se consigue lo que se busca y por lo tanto se deben investigar alternativas. En tal sentido, el recorrido por el centro de la ciudad de Cumaná ya es rutinario para dedicarse a estos asuntos.

Aproveché esta caminata para acudir a la oficina comercial del servicio de electricidad, algo que debí realizar hace algún tiempo atrás, pero siempre se presentaban otras prioridades y más cuando era fin de año. Ahora sí pude visitar el lugar y plantear una duda acerca de mi facturación. Como se advierte en las fotos, las calles estaban casi desiertas, así que me atendieron de inmediato.

El centro de la ciudad mostraba una quietud de esas que hacen dudar acerca de los días, ciertamente Venezuela atraviesa por momentos tensos, pero de igual manera en las primeras semanas de enero el tránsito es poco debido a que no haya dinero en las calles y por lo tanto las personas evitan salir sin motivo.

En mi caso ya me acostumbré a caminar y lo hago de manera rutinaria, así que esta tranquilidad urbana contribuye a mi concentración y por lo tanto a mi salud física y mental. Llegar a casa luego de realizar una larga caminata, y con las tareas asignadas cumplidas, sin duda representa una gran satisfacción.
