“These Logs Are Getting A Little Knotty!”🤣
Free wood, is free wood…. right?😇
“Silvertop, you might not be able to park your truck close to the firewood, the construction guys have the “Under Construction” side street blocked!”🥰
“Under construction”, is a bit of an understatement Lol!🤣
See that Coors beer truck, blocking Silvertop’s truck from leaving with my first load of firewood?
The tractor sank into the soft sand on this “Temporary” road, and was spinning out like it was in deep snow! I looked above this trailer to see a three phase electrical line only an inch or so from the top of this trailer!😬
Now that would definitely leave a mark Lol!😳
Maybe everyone might get to enjoy some Free Coors Light Lol!😇
Liz sent me a photo of the logs yesterday, but photos don’t really capture the sheer diameter of these rounds!🙄
“Liz, I’m in pretty good shape, and I can’t pick up some of these logs!😬
“Silvertop, maybe you will need to bring your Ax with you on your next trip!”🥰
Silvertop has done this many times in the past, and that was my next plan of attack!☺️
Round two, I parked my truck within inches of the firewood……..this should go nicely!🤗
With logs this size, it’s almost impossible to split down the middle………
I have learned that you “Split Off” large chunks going around in a circle, then finish with a split down the middle!💪
With my mighty Fiskers X27 Ax in hand, I let a HARD blow strike the first large round!😅
My Ax BOUNCED!😳
Strike two, then three, then four…..not even a tiny crack!🙄
I abandoned ship on that round, and went to another. I was able to successfully split the second log after many hard strikes😬
Liz came outside to check on Silvertop……..
“How’s it going Silvertop, I can hear you splitting through the walls inside!🥰
“Liz, this Fir is so wet, I can see water coming out of the log when I strike it with my Ax!😮
For hours, I picked through the logs to find ones I could split!
“Honey, you need two strong men to pick up these logs, and a gasoline powered splitter!”🤔
By afternoon I had two truckloads back home, and had all but given up on the balance of the wood pile!🙄
I texted Liz………..
“OK…. I will try once again tomorrow morning, but some of these very “Knotty” rounds are beyond hand splitting!”😇
Guys, sometimes you need to …………
“Know when to walk away, and know when to run!”🤣
Till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😊
