Finally a day with a bit of overcast and a few teasing raindrops but the oppressive heat continues here in Arizona (but only 99 degrees 😎)
I went with Lulu to the park early this morning to avoid the heat. Plopped Lulu in a little kiddie pool that was there to wet her down and then she had a blast running around and frolicking with her furry friends. Amazing what a little cool down in a pool can do.
I hit my usual rolling road route towards noon. At least there was a bit of a breeze along the way. My right leg was a little bit bothered on the three downhill sections but it wasn't too bad. I encountered a couple of people actually RUNNING along the way - man, made me want to get my ass in gear and get back to running!!!
Overall it was a much better effort today as my pace improved and my stride felt more comfortable although not as smooth as it wad last year.
I'm still thinking about if I should try the 6 day at the end of December as I would be walking much of the time anyways. I have some volunteer credits to use so I'll see how things go over the next couple of months. Even trying to maintain 50 miles a day walking will be a challenge over 6 days.
