We had a fun day out in the muddy and mucky forest as the warmer weather is quickly melting the snow and making the ground very soggy.
We didn't go out for our morning walk but instead headed over to Lynx Lake for another hike around on the shore trail. There were a good number of people out hiking despite the increasingly sloppy trail conditions. Lulu didn't pause too much except to follow some animal tracks in the snow and a couple of rolls on the snow left in the shaded areas.
It felt good to be out in the forest on such a beautiful Friday enjoying nature and getting good exercise at the same time.
From the lake we drove up the road another couple of miles to get in a couple of hours of prospecting in the very chilly creek. A couple of friends stopped by to join us so everyone had a good (but muddy) time trying to find some decent gold.
Just a couple of miles going back and forth to my car and scrambling around the creek. Plenty of muddy ground to dig and a few nice bits of gold for my efforts. Lulu was very happy to have company and hopefully we'll be back this weekend.
