Hello, friends around the world. Hello, friends at Hive. Today is Tuesday again, and as you all know, it's the perfect day to listen to and share good music on this platform.
To be honest, the singer I'm bringing you isn't one of my favorites, but the album she released in 2009 with Primera Fila is one of my favorites in the world, so much so that in 2009 I gave it to several of my friends as a gift.
Primera Fila is a musical concept created by Sony Music that consists of recording an intimate concert by a singer live, with a small audience and musical instruments in plain view. This format has been used by Franco De Vita, Vicente Fernández, Yuridia, and Thalia. From that work, which in my opinion is the best of her entire career, we will listen to three pieces.
The first song is “¿Qué será de ti?” (What Will Become of You?), a romantic pop ballad written and sung by Brazilian Roberto Carlos in 1972 and re-released and covered by Thalia in 2009 on her album Primera Fila. This piece was one of the singles released to promote the album and showcases Thalia's growth as a singer.
The second song is called “Equivocada,” written by the talented Mario Domm, which became a huge hit in 2009. This song, which talks about how we can make mistakes when we are in love, is Thalia's first song to reach so many plays worldwide, and its video has had more than 500 million views to date.
The last song I want to share is “Brindis,” written by Afo Verde for the singer Soledad, but performed with great emotion by Thalia, turning it into an anthem of life and resilience. I read recently that this song accompanied Messi and the entire Argentine team on their journey to win the World Cup.
Thalia is better known as an actress than as a singer, but with this album she scored a thousand points as a performer. Likewise, this work reminds me of a time when I used to go out with my friends and we would end up singing these songs at the top of our lungs. As I listen, I remember Tania, Auro, Neidy, and Fanny, all of them bad singers, but excellent friends.
