Good day! It's supposed to be Day 8 of my Thirtyfor30 but I missed 2 days in a row. The weekend has overflowed with drama, laughter, food, and genuinely good times with my boyfriend's family. Nonetheless, I'm picking up where I left off! I'll be quick!
Now that I am a homeowner, I've discovered one thing: I'm a perfectionist. LOL! Okay, ain't something new. 🤣 I grew up in a house that normalized disorganization and hoarding a bunch of things from old clothes to empty glass bottles in the hope that they'll be used in the future. But that future never came for many of my parents' collections. My parents did their best to organize our home but I guess their definition of organized varies from that of the modern world.
"Break the cycle!" I might've grown from a home that houses more than it should, but I'm not allowing the same in my new home. It's important to understand that cleanliness and orderliness aren't the responsibility of just a single person. Gone are the days when only mothers or women in the family were expected to keep the house sparkling clean. Perhaps women can spearhead the project and create a system of how things should be, but everyone should be involved. From color-coded and function-based wardrobes to clear, clean, and dry kitchen counters, one secret tops it all off: designate a place for everything, and in any given time, when you look for these things, you ought to find them there. As simple as that. I'm that girl who can't relax until everything has been kept where it should be. It stresses me out sometimes, but not doing it any other way. 😉
Living life intentionally every single day, she believes that there’s no limit to one’s potential. Right now, she’s on the loose for the pursuit of endless holistic self-growth and development. She wants to light the way for others. She believes there’s no better way to leave a legacy than to pay it forward.
Her ultimate goal in life is to reach the state of enlightenment where there’s nothing but peace, love, happiness, and contentment - nothing more, nothing less.
