The cover picture shows the path to the neighbor. The family runs a small dairy. The milk comes from their own dairy cows, which have to be milked twice a day. We bought fresh milk, yogurt and cheese there.

This time I was concerned with the variations in infrared photography in post-processing with Darktable. All images were taken with the same filter configuration. I converted the two images, above and below, to black and white photos in the software.

A large part of my friend Rodrigo's property is used by a neighbor who grazes his breeding cattle there. Accordingly, there are a lot of pasture fences in the area.
To get onto the property, you have to pass through 4 gates. These are necessary to keep the herds of cattle separate.
If a gate is left open, chaos ensues. The foreign cattle must then be driven back onto your own land on the huge terrain.

Intensive cattle farming characterizes large areas of Brazil. Accordingly, a lot of forest was cleared in the past. Today, strict requirements must be met before a tree can be felled. The trend in many places is towards reforestation. However, most of the time, commercial forests are planted that can be “harvested” after just 15 years.
I myself am thinking about planting a small mixed forest here. Every hectare helps to make the world a better place. Everyone should make the world a better place before they leave it. At least that's my attitude to life.

Life here in the country is very simple. People help each other when there are problems. You meet your neighbors when you arrive or leave. There's always time for a chat when you meet up. You can find everything you need in the small town. DIY store, supermarket, pharmacies, cafés, restaurants and much more. I have never heard a bad word or had a problem with anyone here. The people here are open and friendly.

When I let my gaze wander over the landscape here, I come to rest. There really is nothing to disturb me. I feel very much at home here. I think I will travel here very often. Time seems to have stood still here for 50 or 100 years. For me, it is a haven of peace.
