Hi friends,
A few weeks ago in October I visited San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, an island located in the Basque Country that has gained a lot of popularity because it is one of the locations used to film some of the scenes of the series "Games of Thrones".
The reason why I visited this place was mainly because it was close to where I was working that week and browsing the internet I found very nice pictures of the place taken from different locations of the path that leads to this islet.
I was fortunate to arrive late in the afternoon to the foot of the islet, although I did not dare to climb to the hermitage at the top.
I am sure it would have been worth the climb, but the fear of not being able to return to my car because in a short time they would close the fence that gives access to the path that leads to the islet made me consider the climb.
However, if I could wait for the sunset in that place contemplating a good sunset that was my main goal.
My goal was to be in the golden hour in the area, because before descending I had seen from the top of a viewpoint this small lesser known islet called "Akatxa Irla".
Because the sunset would be to the left of the islet, I had made up my mind that I would have a very good light to try my first foray into minimalist photography. Although I know you will say that this photo is not minimalist.
But in my head I did see the minimalism in the photo, since I imagined the resulting photo with the crop and some brightness and exposure retouching, I think I achieved my goal.
I also edited it in black and white getting a result that satisfies me as an entry to the #POBphotocontest organized by .
I hope to be able to go soon to the place and on that occasion to take my tripod to be able to do long exposure photography and see if I improve even more this minimalist photography.
Best regards.
