So much fun
It has been almost a week since my last post. I don't think I have ever gone this long between posts since I started posting here on the blockchain. It has been a busy but very fun week.
Our family from Oregon came to Utah to visit and my wife and I were so excited to have these little girls here in our home for a while. These little ones have basically become our grandkids over the past few years and we love seeing them and making memories with them.
We were so excited to be able to meet this little one in person. She was born on the same day as our little Marshall man. I thought it would be hard to see her because she is the same age as what Marshall would be, but I quickly fell in love with her. She loved being held and would laugh at all of my faces and funny noises.
Our daughter was excited to meet them all as well. The little ones loved her and were so excited to have another person to play with.
We spent time around the fire cooking hotdogs and listening to music.
And playing on the hammock with the dogs.
This little one must have been hungry. She ended up eating like three hotdogs and anytime my wife got a new hotdog, she would run up and ask for a bite.
That "bite" usually ended up being the remainder of the hotdog though. She sure does love a hotdog grilled over a campfire.
Little Addie was so excited that we had a bird. She said that she has always wanted to hold one, but she was too scared. After I showed her how nice MJ was and that she didn't need to worry about anything, she put her arm out and MJ hopped right on. She loved it and thought it was so cool.
We had so much fun together and before they left, I made them little aliens out of empty toilet paper tubes. Turns out that kids love these little crafts and they are so easy to make.
Then over the weekend, we had my wife's summer party that she plans each year for her work. Last year, we had the summer party at a water park near our home and she just rents out the entire park so it is just people from her company there and it has become an event that everyone looks forward too.
The families that have kids love coming here for the party because the park isn't crowded at all and they can eat all the pizza they want. My wife and I were nervous that the weather wouldn't be good because it has been cool this summer, but it wasn't too bad. It just got a bit chilly towards the end of the night, but the lazy river was heated and most of the people just hung out in the warm water. Overall, it was a really fun event and my wife did awesome planning the entire thing.
Then yesterday, I spent the day at my sister's house with her kids. My sister has been in the adoption process for the past six years. A couple years ago, she was able to get two little boys from Haiti and they have been working on adopting two more children from Haiti, but things have gotten bad in Haiti since they got their first two boys, so the next set of children have been delayed a bit.
I was at their house yesterday while she and her husband were in Florida because their two other children were finally coming. They are all home now back here in Utah and their family is complete. I can't even imagine how hard these past six years have been, not just for my sister and her family, but also for the two children that have been in Haiti for that time. I am glad that the kids are here and they are safe.
It was fun hanging out with the other kids yesterday and getting to know them all better. My wife and I are giving my sister and her family some time together before we go and meet the two other children.
So that is what I have been up to over this past week. Hopefully things calm down for a bit so my wife and I can catch up on sleep because it has been exhausting. I hope you all have had a great week so far. Thanks for stopping by, you are awesome.
