Hello photo lovers!
And from each trip we are left with memories, moments and photos, this is what happens in each one of them, and also in my trip to New York. We have already visited iconic movie places and impressive architectural structures, but we are always left with those spontaneous images, that feeling of being a participant in the life of the people who live there.
In this way, this post is a tribute to all that, to those people who anonymously appear in those photographs and are also part of those memories captured in colorful images, that moment of their lives ends up being part of ours.
Little Italy & Chinatown
If there are two different neighborhoods with a special personality, they are Little Italy, the Italian neighborhood with delicious places to eat that hearty Italian-American food, and which at that time apparently were celebrating. Festive celebrations, loud and with character, and of course with the colors of the Italian flag always present. Bella Italia also in New York!
And Italian restaurants suddenly become Chinese restaurants. There in New York there is a huge and numerous Chinese community, and in its Chinatown neighborhood there is always movement, people and a lot of life. A life that they maintain in a healthy way by doing their tai-chi practices outdoors in an open park or also their traditional dances with striking red costumes and small drums, all together and living their lives. Everything live and lively, a colorful energetic and festive day becomes a spectacle for others who pass by with curiosity.
Not far away there are some monuments or buildings that attract attention and not far away we can take a walk through the famous Soho perhaps... there are so many areas to pass through and feel the rhythm of the city, and all its people.
Washington Square Park & Bryant Park
We already talked about this area in other posts, in the first, Washington Square Park is an outdoor space marked by a magnificent large ornamental arch that was surely built in tribute to someone or something, and also another statue. And around it and its fountain people meet, stop for a moment and take some time to return to calm, from so much constant hustle and bustle.
But there is also the hustle and bustle of children playing with the fountain, when it is warmer, and it also follows the rhythm, a rhythm of drums that are actually cubes beaten with particular emphasis and energy by groups of young people, dancers, rap singers or those who do breakdancing, spontaneous or perhaps habitual street shows, life on the street also becomes busy, entertaining and fun. Despite the relaxation, nothing stops.
And for quieter parks, for example Bryant Park, which I also mentioned in a monomad challenge post. There people sit, walk calmly and enjoy an urban green space before returning to traffic, shop windows and the maelstrom of numbered streets.
The Brooklyn Bridge & Manhattan
And I have also mentioned the Brooklyn Bridge in the previous post, a great structure with a lot of history, through which thousands of people pass every day. Each person has their own life and their own route, also their own story. At that moment all of them converge, crossing the city from one side to the other, each one at their own pace, while the bridge is a witness of everything around there...
Other corners take us to the money triangle, to Manhattan and some of those skyscrapers that are always seen in the background. While we realize the contrasts or all the types of businesses that we can find.
Times Square
But the most vibrant heart of the city is full of neon lights and signs of all colors and sizes, again we see, live and feel Times Square. And people of all kinds, of all conditions, pass by there. It is a constant movement, with each pulsation of each bulb or LED light a step of someone who is almost blinded by so much visual stimulation or who passes indifferent once again through that strident but familiar place for some of them.
And other people stop and form crowds while the typical yellow taxis speed by...
The End
And like every trip, this one also comes to an end, we can stop one of those taxis last night to leave, leaving all those people who will continue with their daily lives in the most intense city, while, without knowing it, they have been protagonists of the photos of another person who was also there for a while, and here they are now, not only in my photos but also in this last post about the amazing city of New York.
