Meatball soup (bakso) is one of my favorite foods in my country. Many people love this type of food because of its savory taste and its lightness when consumed. Additionally, it can also serve as a substitute for rice as a main dish. For some people, eating bakso can be a light meal since it doesn't make you feel too full after consuming it.
Bakso itself is a dish consisting of meatball balls served with noodles. In various regions, they usually combine bakso with tendons, bone marrow, or fried dumplings. So, when you visit different regions in Indonesia, you will find different flavors of bakso. One of the regions that, according to me, has the most delicious bakso is East Java.
This time, I had the opportunity to do a photo session for this food, and the photo is intended for social media needs of a restaurant that specializes in selling bakso. The portion served is quite generous, so when I ate bakso there, I felt full. The meatball balls themselves are made from real beef, making them taste really delicious and savory. Additionally, the broth is made from beef broth, which makes it even more flavorful and, of course, light, so it doesn't cause discomfort when eaten.
Here are the results of the food photo session:
According to me, the most challenging part of photographing this food is because it has soup. So, I had to use a support at the bottom of the bowl to showcase the noodles. If I didn't use a bowl, the noodles would sink into the soup, and because the meatball balls are quite heavy, they would cause the noodles to sink even more without the support.
Another thing that was quite bothersome was that I had to be very quick in taking the photos because if not, the noodles would expand, and it wouldn't look good in the pictures. Other than that, I used vegetable oil to add a little highlight to the meatball balls. As for the props, I only used real props like the restaurant's own condiments, such as sweet soy sauce, tomato sauce, and chili sauce. I didn't use any other supporting props so that people who see the photos can imagine that the food they eat is exactly as they see in the pictures.
My client really loved the photo results, and I suggested printing them in the menu book since they didn't have it when I visited. I noticed that many visitors still ask about the differences between one menu and another. So, I hope the photos I produced can attract more visitors to the restaurant.
Warm regards from me,
Thank you.
