Light Painting the book "Genesis" by Sebastiao Salgado Part II.
Not sure If you have seen my first post light painting this book.
Here are some more experiments involving more color and more tools. Starting with the book just laid out on the table using multiple different colored flashlights. As you see no Camera Rotation or anything complicated just yet.
Then when the light reflects off my hands, there's this misty effect over the folded pages of the book. Not planned but very welcome when I looked at the results.
Interesting to mention here is that the lens is here set at a 75mm focal length. What I felt missing here is the depth of the pages. That's when I decided to move closer and use a 32mm focal length while giving more visibility to the pages. Also, I added the Camera Rotation Effect in all later images.

Hier sind einige weitere Experimente mit mehr Farbe und mehr Werkzeugen. Angefangen habe ich natürlich einfach mit dem Buch aufgeschlagen vor mir. Noch nix mit Camera Rotation oder andere aufwendige Dinge.
Wenn das Licht dann von an meinen Händen reflektiert, gibt's diesen Nebelartigen Effekt über den gefalteten Seiten.
Interessant zu erwähnen ist hier, dass das Objektiv hier auf eine Brennweite von 75 mm eingestellt ist. Was mir hier gefehlt hat, ist die Tiefe der Seiten, also ran und 32mm Brennweite. Da beschloss ich, näher heranzugehen und den Seiten mehr Sichtbarkeit zu verleihen. Außerdem habe ich den Kamerarotationseffekt in allen späteren Bildern hinzugefügt.
Color Experiments
Those who know me better, and have possibly seen me light painting understand that with two images in the evening, I would probably just get started. Yes, there were more images and more results to share.
I do seek more subtle use of Light Painting, but once I have things set up I often play with many colors and see what works. Often I would be running on trial and error and have room for coincidences.
Diejenigen, die mich besser kennen und mich vielleicht beim Lightpainting gesehen haben, verstehen, dass ich mit zwei Bildern am Abend wahrscheinlich nur anfangen würde. Ja, es gab mehr Bilder und mehr Ergebnisse zu teilen.
Ich suche einen subtileren Einsatz von Light Painting, aber sobald ich die Dinge eingerichtet habe, spiele ich oft mit vielen Farben und sehe, was funktioniert. Oft würde ich auf Versuch und Irrtum laufen und Raum für Zufälle haben.
Of course you know what's going to happen. I will get the black fiber brush out of the bag at least once. Took me a while to get something cool but hey seems to work.
The result can be seen immediately. Might find it exciting. In further experiments, I will try out them a little more with the F-Stop. There's more.
War ja klar was passiert. Mindestens einmal musste ich ja auch mal die Black Fiber Brush ausprobieren.
Das Resultat kann sich durchaus sehen lassen. Finde es durchaus spannend. Bei weiteren Experimenten werde ich aber mal etwas mehr mit dem F-Stop rumprobieren. Da geht noch was.
This one I like it very much. It is simple enough not to overwhelm with the Light Painting effect.
Dieser gefällt mir sehr gut. Es ist einfach genug, um nicht mit dem Light Painting-Effekt zu überwältigen.
The Set-Up & Settings
At first, I was about 2m away and zoomed in (75mm focal length)but then there was not much to see of the pages. Then I moved in about 70cm from the book and used a relatively wide angle. In this case, the Canon 24-105mm F4 lens was at a 32mm focal length. Remember the featured image is taken at a 75mm focal length.
My Camera was set to ISO 100 and the Lens to F22. Since I was relatively close to the object and I knew my light will be very bright I used the high F-Stop.
Zuerst war ich etwa 2m entfernt und habe hineingezoomt wobei das Objektiv dann auf 75mm war. Von den Seiten war dann aber nicht mehr viel zu sehen. Dann bin ich bis 70cm ran und habe das Canon 24-105mm F4 Objektiv eine Brennweite von 32 mm eingestellt.
Die Kamera war auf ISO 100 und das Objektiv auf F22 eingestellt. Da ich relativ nah am Objekt war und ich wusste, dass mein Licht sehr hell sein wird, habe ich den hohen F-Stop verwendet.
So those who know me I love the Camera Rotation Light Paintings. So yes that's what you see here. It is not a reflection but a rotation mid-exposure.
The first image is a 110-second exposure and the second set with the fiber brush took 98 and 154 seconds to complete.
Wer mich kennt, weiß ich liebe Camera Rotation Light Paintings. Also ja, das ist genau was Ihr hier seht. Also keine Reflexion, sondern eine Rotation in einer Belichtung.
