Show no fear | Keine Angst Zeigen!
Almost a year ago I had the pleasure to join in on a special adventure with Sven aka ,
, and a few others that love Light Painting as I do. We all met up at this abandoned Airfield just outside of Berlin.
You have seen a few of the shots from the abandoned airfield in my previous posts. Today I share with you the images of the "Kraftwerk". The featured image is a cool Camera Rotation Light Painting of the Power Station for the entire Military base.
What were the settings?
What you see is the main featured Camera Rotation Light Painting is a single 548-second exposure time photograph. The camera was always set to ISO 100 (to allow for areal loooong exposure) and my LAOWA 12mm Zero D Lens to F11.
The image is a Camera Rotation in two steps with a spin of 180° halfway through the exposure. For both parts, I had to run around and inside to shed light on all areas. That's the exposure was sooo long.
Test Run
Here you see the first test to see how much time I will need to do a full circle back to the camera. This image took me 288 seconds and the image did not blow out so I knew I can make it within the given exposure time. I only had to be careful with the overlapping parts. But that worked out on first the run.
Show no fear | Keine Angst Zeigen!
Always interesting, the subject during the day. Here is the power station while we were exploring the property before sunset.
What cought my eye here was the cool graffiti that said "Show no fear" in german. That was half the reason why I chose this side of the building for the Light Painting.
Full Video with more impressions
To get you the full experience I created a kind of location check the video with the footage I got during our visits. Please check out the video for aerial shots as well.
Das gibt's also
Camera Rotation what?
Camera Rotation it is just what you think. During the exposure, the camera is turned in a few angles and while doing so I also light up the scene. Everything is one exposure without any trickery.
Kamera Rotation Light Painting?
Kamera Rotation genau was Ihr jetzt denkt.
Not too long ago I wrote up an article on the topic. It has been published on my website and here on Hive as a blog post if you are interested in this technique.
Link unten.

I hope you found these images inspirational. If you have more questions please do not hesitate. I am happy to share my knowledge.
If you think this is Spam, why did you read this far, and why the fuck bother! Move on from your self-righteous mind state and bury yourself. Don't bother about what others may find interesting. Just stay in your bubble and ...
